Nissan, Japan's second-largest carmaker, is in trouble, with profits falling for three years in a row. According to the latest news from Japanese media, Nissan released a results report that consolidated operating profit in fiscal year 2018 (March 2018-December 2018) was 313.6 billion yen, down 14% from the same period last year. It is also predicted that the consolidated operating profit for fiscal year 2018 (March 2018-March 2019) will fall 22% year-on-year to 450 billion yen (about 27.48 billion yuan), a decrease of 90 billion yen compared with the original forecast of 540 billion yen.

It is understood that in the past year, Nissan was exposed factory irregularities scandal, former chairman Ghosn was arrested for "financial misconduct". Japanese media said it was the third year in a row that Nissan's profits had fallen, highlighting the limitations of the company's weak global sales and sales strategy that relied on price cuts.

In response to the company's situation, Nissan President and CEO Nishikawa Hiroshi said in an interview, "it has reached its peak in the United States and continues to fluctuate slightly in China."

Nissan's two main markets are the US and China, but Nissan fluctuated in the region last year, particularly in the US.

It is understood that Nissan's sales in the United States fell for four consecutive quarters, and operating profit also fell. Nissan is on a downward trend in the Chinese market. In January, Nissan's new car sales in China fell 0.8% year-on-year to 133934, the fifth consecutive month of decline in Nissan's new car sales in China.

Nissan's bicycle profits have also declined! Nissan has given priority to gaining market share over the past few years, expanding sales by increasing sales bonuses. Bonuses are paid by car companies to sales stores and become the basic funds for price reduction and promotion. Nissan's sales bonus is 60% higher than Toyota's and 10% higher than the American average.

Last year, former chairman Ghosn was accused of "financial misconduct" that caused a sensation, which affected the reputation of Nissan's internal management. President Nishikawa apologized several times in public, claiming responsibility for serious violations.
