However, sales of the BMW 3-Series are far from satisfactory. In September, sales were 7026, down 45.6% from a year earlier; in 2019, cumulative sales were 79528, down 19.6% from a year earlier.

Data show that the BMW New 3 Series officially launched in June this year, because the higher price led to a substantial decline in sales, in order to recover sales, dealers reduced the price of the BMW 3 Series, the sales of the BMW New 3 Series picked up slightly.

However, the recent release of an internal BMW document online may make BMW's 3-series sales even more embarrassing. The document shows that BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. and brilliance BMW Motor Co., Ltd. decided to stop sales and delivery of some new 7-series (G12), new 3-series standard axle versions (G20), new 3-series long-axle versions (G28) and new generation BMW Z4 (G29) models. Problems with engine balance shaft bearings were found in the vehicles involved (involving the need to replace the engine).

For this news, BMW confirmed that it is true, but there are only 67 vehicles involved in the problem, which is not a system-wide model misread by the media.

It is understood that the 67 vehicles that stopped delivery were equipped with overseas-made BMW B48 engines. It is worth noting that BMW has been recalled abroad after inquiry, because the bearings in the affected B46/B48 engines may not be strong enough, which will lead to premature bearing wear and damage to the engine, and the engine may flameout while driving. The affected vehicles are required to test the engine and replace the procedures, remove and install the engine according to the maintenance instructions. It is not difficult to see that the engine problems of domestic models may be basically the same as those overseas.

However, the vehicle solutions to the problems of vehicle engines are quite different at home and abroad.

Foreign countries recall the problem vehicles involved, but the scope of the recall does not include the Chinese market, but it is understood that the engines carried by the vehicles are basically the same, but the naming methods used are different. Today's engine production uses assembly line operation, as long as there is an error in one link, the entire batch of products will be affected, especially the global products, involving a wider range. From this point of view, if there is a recall abroad, there is no reason not to do so at home. But at present, brilliance BMW has not yet filed with the State quality Inspection Bureau on the problem vehicles, is it more serious abroad than at home?

It is understood that B48 is a brand-new engine launched by BMW and a substitute for N20 engine. At present, BMW B48 series engines are equipped with new 7-series, 3-series, 5-series, new X1 and other models, and it is exposed that some models recalled by BMW also prove that B48 is still defective.

Through the automobile quality defect website, we learned that there are not a few complaints about BMW engine problems, especially the B48 engine, there has been more than one quality problem, the main performance is that the engine refueling at low speed, there will be abnormal noise. And the abnormal noise of the B48 engine does not appear in individual models, there are many riders have a similar situation.

The problem involves four models, but the most serious is the BMW 3-Series, as the problem occurred shortly after its launch and could have a further impact on sales. At present, BMW China and brilliance BMW have not yet issued a related explanation on the news. Germany's BMW has taken the lead in releasing everything.
