When it comes to the new power of car-building in China, the first thing that comes to mind is the better-selling brands such as the future, Xiaopeng and Weimar, but not many people know about zero-running cars.

Data show that Zero Automobile, founded in December 2015, is a new energy vehicle company focusing on the research, design, production and sales of new energy vehicles and auto parts and accessories.

In January 2019, Zero S01, the first production model of Zero Motor, was officially put on the market. It launched four models with a subsidized guidance price of 10.99-149900 yuan and positioned as a small pure electric sedan.

The car is equipped with permanent magnet engine, the maximum power is 125kw, the maximum torque is 250N ·m, and the acceleration time of 0-100km/h is 6.9s. The vehicle offers two mileage versions, 300km and 380km, in which the 300km version uses 18650 ternary lithium battery with a capacity of 35.6kWh, while the 380km version uses 21700 ternary lithium battery with a capacity of 48kWh.

In June 2019, zero-running cars officially delivered 10 zero-running S01 to the first batch of owners, and said that zero-running will complete 10,000 deliveries this year.

However, there seems to be no news since Zero cars want their owners to deliver the first Zero S01.

Recently, at the 2019 Global Future Travel Conference, Zhao Gang, vice president of Zero Auto, said that due to the influence of the general environment, zero-running car delivery has brought a lot of pressure, but he also said that although the development speed of zero-running car is relatively slow, but solid.

The Zero S01 was officially launched in January this year and was not officially delivered to car owners until June, and sales in the first half of the year are basically hopeless. From July to September this year, although sales gradually increased, only 509 vehicles were delivered in the third quarter, a far cry from the annual sales target of 10000 vehicles.

There is no doubt about the low delivery of zero-running cars. Due to the downturn in the car market and the sharp decline in subsidies, sales of new energy vehicles have declined for three consecutive months compared with the same period last year.

According to the automobile production and sales data released by the China Automobile Association in September 2019, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 89000 and 80000 respectively in September this year, down 29.9% and 34.2% respectively from the same period last year. From January to September, the production and sales of new energy vehicles were 888000 and 872000, up 20.9% and 20.8% from the same period last year, which was significantly lower than that of the same period last year.

In this regard, Zhao Gang said frankly that the current delivery volume of zero-running cars is not ideal, and even if it enters a normal delivery stage, it is impossible to achieve the annual sales target of 10,000 vehicles, so the current leading cars no longer focus on the current completion rate of sales, but do a good job in the current service and optimize the suggestions put forward by users.

With regard to the decline of new energy vehicles in recent March, it said that although it will make it difficult for some new energy vehicle companies to survive, it is not a bad thing for the new energy vehicle industry, from which we can see that there are many problems with new energy vehicles, and car companies that continue to survive after the cold winter will also have stronger vitality.

It is understood that a total of four models have been planned for zero-running cars at present. In addition to the zero-running S01, zero-running cars will begin delivering a minicar based on the zero-running T platform in early 2020; zero-running cars plan to deliver a SUV based on the zero-running C platform by the end of 2020 or early 2021; and zero-running cars will deliver a sedan model in mid-2021.

Zhu Jiangming, chairman of Zero Auto, said, "there is still an opportunity for the new power of car-building. Car-building is a long-distance run, and participants should be bold."
