After many quality gate incidents, Honda's sales have increased rather than declined. Honda China released its October sales figures on Nov. 5, with terminal sales of 147716 vehicles in October, up 6.5% from a year earlier, with cumulative terminal sales of 1271286 vehicles from January to October, up 15.2% from a year earlier.

According to the two joint ventures, GAC Honda's terminal sales in October were 67992, up 1.1% from the same period last year, and 629140 in the first 10 months, up 7.9% from the same period last year. Dongfeng Honda's October terminal sales were 79724, up 11.6% from the same period last year, and 42146 in the first 10 months, up 23.3% from the same period last year.

Honda's sales growth is due to the high popularity of the market for leading models and the continued launch of new products.

In terms of specific models, Accord, Ling Pai, colorful Zhi, XR-V, Civic and CR-V sold more than 10,000 models in October, of which Civic sold more than 20, 000 vehicles. In addition, the share of sales of hybrid products is also increasing, with a combined sales of 15373 of the five Honda hybrid models in October.

In terms of new cars, Honda continues to implement the two-car strategy. This year, Guangzhou Auto Honda's new SUV Haoying will be on the market. It is also a sister homologous model of Dongfeng Honda CR-V. The powertrain is equipped with 1.5T fuel version and 2.0L hybrid version, with an official pre-price of 180000 yuan.

At the same time, the popular Honda Civic hatchback version has been confirmed in China and is expected to make its debut in the first half of next year. At present, there is little news about the Civic hatchback version, but some industry insiders have pointed out that the Civic hatchback version may be located in Guangzhou Automobile Honda. However, the earlier news is that the Civic hatchback version will replace Dongfeng Honda Jade's market position. We will continue to keep an eye on the news of the new car.

However, Honda car defects have continued to break out in recent years, and a number of large-scale recalls have affected the brand's reputation. After the brake door and throttle, Honda announced another recall in August 2019. A total of more than 250000 Accord and INSPIRE vehicles were forced to recall because of the possibility of stalling in a hot and humid environment. Even with rising sales, Honda's quality stability has disappointed some consumers.

In the cold winter of the market, from the perspective of the overall Chinese automobile market, the market share of German and Japanese brands is increasing, while that of independent brands, American and French brands is decreasing, while that of Korean brands is stable. The future market will be dominated by brand strength, product strength and word-of-mouth, which is also the key factor to stabilize sales growth.
