At the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, Biden founder Dai Lei said that the first mass-produced model, the M-Byte, will be put into mass production next year. In October, Dai Lei posted on social software that the Baiteng Nanjing factory had gone offline with the first mass-produced M-Byte, along with a number of pictures of new cars.

On November 6th, Biden unveiled its first production model, M-Byte, at the Nanjing factory for the first time, showing its mass-produced appearance and interior for the first time since the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

As you can see, the M-Byte mass production version basically restores the design of the concept car, the new car retains the Smart Surfaces intelligent expression of the concept car, the front grille uses the closed design commonly used by electric vehicles, and the front is sleek. In addition, the car also uses diamond-shaped daytime driving lights and matrix LED headlights.

The Baiteng M-Byte mass production version offers two power systems, a single-motor rear-drive version and a front-rear dual-motor rear-drive version, with a maximum power of 272hp and 408hp, with an integrated range of 430km and 550km.

However, the biggest highlight of the new car is the interior, which has a 48-inch full screen divided into three display areas, with driving information in the left area and navigation and other services in the central and right areas.

Although the first production model has been taken off the line, there are still a lot of problems to be solved for Baiteng.

It is understood that, like Baiteng, as a new car-building force, Lai Lai has raised more than 20 billion yuan, Xiaopeng more than 15 billion yuan, and Weimar more than 10 billion yuan. So far, Baiteng has raised only $700 million. Li Bin once said, "to build a car from scratch, 20 billion is a ticket." By contrast, Baiteng's $700 million is a drop in the bucket.

In addition to the funding problem, Baiteng will also face competition from other new car-building forces. Biden has to face the new energy car companies headed by Tesla, in addition to Tesla, Weimar, Xiaopeng and other traditional new energy car companies.

After mass production, in addition to facing the competitive pressure of other automobile companies, how to make a profit as soon as possible is also a problem that needs to be solved. NIO is the one with the largest financing and the largest loss among the new car-building forces in China. It has been developed in China for many years and has not yet had the ability to make its own blood, with a cumulative loss of more than 20 billion yuan at present.

With regard to the above hidden worries, Dai Lei said: at present, there are dozens of new car-building forces in China, and consumers do not need so many brands. Now that the knockout stage has begun, enterprises will be eliminated or acquired in two years at the earliest. But a few will stay.

In Dai Lei's plan, Baiteng's break-even point is 100000 vehicles, which is expected to break even by 2022. As for the competition from many new energy car companies, Dai Lei said that Baiteng is aimed at Tesla, and Tesla is a worthy competitor, but compared with Tesla, Baiteng has advantages in science and technology, quality and design.

No matter what happens in the future, you still have to be yourself now. Baiteng has at least released its first mass-production model, which is an important step forward. However, with the increasing severity of the automotive industry, new energy vehicles are facing a new round of reshuffle, and the new energy vehicle companies that can persist until the end also show that they do have a certain strength.
