On September 23, a Weimar EX5 burst into flames in Wenzhou, causing black smoke and raging flames. Two hours later, Weimar responded on its official Weibo account, confirming that the self-igniting vehicle was the Weima EX5, and that the battery pack loaded with the vehicle did not catch fire or explode during the combustion, nor did the accident cause any casualties or other property damage. Affected by the EX5 Wenzhou spontaneous combustion incident, Weimar's delivery volume began to decline significantly in September. Data show that Weima delivered 1344 vehicles in September, a sharp drop of 38.21% from the previous month to 12656 from January to September, a far cry from the annual delivery target of 100000.

Compared with Tesla's record sales, 255200 vehicles were delivered in the first three quarters of this year, more than in the whole of 2018.

In the case of low sales of Weima Automobile, Shen Hui does not plan to lower the sales target. Shen Hui has said that people are worried that Model 3 will impact the new domestic car-building brands after entering the Chinese market, but if they see the background of the new car-building forces and the development history of China's automobile industry, they may not be afraid. Weimar's valuation should exceed Tesla.
