SAIC has released the latest sales figures for October. According to data, SAIC sold 544391 vehicles in October, down 9.55 per cent from a year earlier to 4958338 vehicles from January to October, down 13.74 per cent from the same period last year.

According to the latest data from the Federation of passengers, sales in the domestic narrow passenger car market reached 1.843 million in October, down 5.7% from a year earlier to 16.626 million from January to October, down 8.3% from a year earlier. Against this backdrop, SAIC's three main players have not been able to return to growth so far this year, with SAIC Volkswagen selling 168550 vehicles in October, down 6.3 per cent from a year earlier. Cumulative sales from January to October were 1560806, down 8.01 per cent from a year earlier, while SAIC GM sold 136818 vehicles in October, down 25.3 per cent from a year earlier. Cumulative sales from January to October were 1617471 vehicles, down 16.15% from a year earlier, while SAIC GM Wuling sold 150001 vehicles in October, down 7.35% from a year earlier. Cumulative sales from January to October were 1277213, down 22.90% from the same period last year.

In terms of independent brands, SAIC passenger car sales picked up slightly last month, with 60522 new cars sold in October, up 0.86 per cent from the same period last year, but cumulative sales this year fell 6.47 per cent from a year earlier.

According to the announced sales of Shangqi passenger cars, the brands are also performing well. Of these, the Roewe brand sold 35700 vehicles in October, up 6.6% from a year earlier, while the Mingjue brand sold 24700 vehicles in October, up 16.4% from a year earlier. Specific models are negative: Mingjue ZS sold 13500 vehicles in October, up 74.4% from a year earlier; Roewe brand traditional fuel vehicle sales rose 38.6% in October from a year earlier; Roewe RX series SUV sold 20300 vehicles in October, up 14% from a year earlier; Roewe i51-October cumulative sales have been close to 100000.

It is worth noting that among the subsidiaries of SAIC, SAIC Chase has the most outstanding sales performance this year, achieving a "ten-game rise" from January to October, with sales of 14924 new cars in October, an increase of 58 per cent over the same period last year. SAIC Chase sold 116879 vehicles in the first 10 months of this year, an increase of 14.88 per cent.

SAIC also pointed out in its semi-annual report that the decline in sales was largely affected by the environment of the auto market, but this did not affect its strategic expansion and focused on new energy.
