This part falls within the scope of the recall of "Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd., Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. recalls some imported C-class and domestic C-class and E-class two-wheel drive vehicles" issued on May 27, 2019. Through simulated durability test and technical analysis, it is proposed that other strengthening firmware (front axle damping support ring and half shell, wire harness bracket, replacement of shock absorber cover, spring control arm C-type anti-tilt protective parts) will be added on the basis of the original recall measures. to strengthen the strength of related parts.

(2) some imported E-class two-wheel drive vehicles produced from November 29, 2018 to September 11, 2019, a total of 2873, and some domestic E-class two-wheel drive vehicles produced from October 29, 2018 to October 27, 2019, totaling 91825.

When the front shock absorber of the vehicle is impacted by a large external force in the above range, it may cause the damage of the shock absorber and the deformation and bending of the shock absorber fork head, and even cause the bushing of the lower control arm of the vehicle to protrude, and in extreme cases, it may lead to the fracture of the shock absorber fork head. There is a security risk.

Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will install front shock absorbers to strengthen firmware for vehicles within the recall range free of charge to eliminate safety risks.

According to official documents, the specific measures of the original recall are to add a reinforcement component to the affected E-Class vehicles to increase the firmness of the chassis, which are the improved lower control arm bushing, the upper end gasket of the shock absorber spring and the improved buffer block, while replacing the front shock absorber of the 4mm fork head of the original car with a front shock absorber with the thickness of the 5mm fork head.

Other reinforced firmware is added to this recall: through simulated durability testing and technical analysis, other reinforced firmware (front axle shock absorber support ring and half shell, wire harness bracket, replacement of shock absorber cover, spring control arm C-type anti-tilt protection parts) are added on the basis of the original recall measures to strengthen the strength of related components.
