Quality word-of-mouth has always been the main consideration for consumers to buy cars, if the reputation is not good, and the failure rate of the brand is high, consumers certainly will not pay for it. There is no doubt about the authority of the American "Consumer report", but it only represents the situation of automobile consumption in North America. Recently, Automobile House released the 2018 quality report of New passenger cars to take a look at the quality ranking of domestic car brands.

It is understood that the survey object is the real car owner information, the scope is the car ownership period within 2-12 months, the survey time for the whole 2018, a total of more than 15000 qualified samples were collected.

The evaluation index is based on PPH. PPH indicates the number of failures per 100 vehicles. Vehicle problems include body appearance, driving process, functional operation and so on. The smaller the fault value of a hundred vehicles, the better the quality. If the PPH of a car system is 100, this value means that there are an average of 100 failures per 100 vehicles.

Independent brands: 12 brands above average

The 12 independent brands on the list are: LinkedIn, Guanzhi, WEY, Geely, Changan, Qichen, Chery, Jianghuai, Harvard, China, Roewe, Zhongtai.

Lectra ranks first in the quality list of new cars of Chinese brands by investigating 153 problems in 100 cars, while it has been less than a year and a half since the first model was launched. there have been central control system problems, gearshift setbacks, system upgrades and so on. WEY, another self-owned high-end Great Wall brand, ranked third with PPH 169s. Independent high-end brands are facing greater problems, sales have always been unable to go up.

Geely, the independent boss, has 229 faults, ranking fourth in the quality list of new cars of Chinese brands, and Geely sold 1.5 million vehicles last year. The Harvard brand, which has a large sales volume in the SUV market, has 281 car failures in the survey.

It is worth noting that Chuanqi, BYD and other brands are not on the list.

General list of new car quality

Among the 31 brands on the list, only 6 are independent brands.

As an all-imported brand, Lexus has the lowest failure data, with 80 vehicle failures in the survey, much lower than other brands. Volvo ranks second with 147 failures of 100 cars, compared with the ranking of Volvo in the US Consumer report, which is mainly reflected in the high rate of electronic failure.

Brands with small sales, such as Qoros, Citroen and Mazda, have better failure rates in user surveys.

Of the three major Japanese brands, Toyota ranks the highest, ranking 6th with 164 failures, Honda 10th behind Mazda and Nissan 21st.

It is worth noting that Volkswagen, the single brand with the largest domestic sales, sold 3.11 million vehicles in China in 2018, while Volkswagen ranked 26th with 236 failures in the survey.

There are many areas of the list that don't stand up to scrutiny, such as Volvo and Land Rover. Volvo's reputation for quality in the North American market is not so impressive, and it is in the middle and lower reaches all the year round. Volvo is basically in the same position as Nissan, Chrysler and Chevrolet in the 2019 auto brand reliability rankings, not to mention Land Rover.
