On Nov. 14, Ford posted on its official Weibo that its Mustang family pure electric SUV will be named MUSTANG MACH-E, which will be officially launched and scheduled in Los Angeles on November 18, with delivery by the end of 2020 at the earliest. It is understood that the car is the first pure electric car of the Mustang family.

According to Ford officials, the name Mach-E comes from the suffix E in Mustang's classic original high-performance version, Mach 1, which stands for "Electric" electric.

It is worth noting that before the official release of the pure electric car, the official website has already released the details of the car, including its appearance, configuration, powertrain and price. However, the leaked page has been closed.

Judging from the leaked pictures, the Mustang Mach-E uses a four-door cross-border design and a closed forward air grille, with the Mustang's iconic logo in the center and a special rear headlight shaped like a "burning string". From the appearance of this car, there are still many aspects that continue the design elements of the Mustang family.

Mustang Mach-E interior officially released only one picture, from the official picture, the central control is equipped with a 15.5inch touch screen, the cancellation of a large number of physical buttons, there are not too many physical buttons in the car, and the overall interior design of the vehicle tends to be simplified.

According to the leaked information, the car offers five models, namely, Select, Premium, California Route 1, First Edition and the top performance GT model, with official pre-prices of 308000 yuan, 355000 yuan, 367000 yuan, 420000 yuan and 422000 yuan respectively, and mileage of 370km, 483km, 483km, 378km and 435km.

With different models, the power configuration of the car is also different. The car has a choice of two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, and some models only offer AWD full-time four-wheel drive version, of which the most expensive and most powerful GT version has a 100km acceleration time of about 3s.

Ford has partnered with Jiangling Motor to launch the pure electric version of the leading EV in the Chinese market, but compared to the Mustang Mach-E, this pure electric car is the real pure electric vehicle launched by Ford, which is based on Ford's new electric vehicle platform.

Ford said that with the addition of Mach-E, the Mustang family has expanded into a star product pedigree that includes hard-top sports cars, convertible sports cars, high-performance sports cars and pure electric SUV.

On October 18, Ford announced a new round of electrification plans for the global market, mainly for North America, Europe and China. In the Chinese market, Ford China released the "Ford China 2.0" strategy in April this year, proposing to launch more than 30 new Ford and Lincoln models designed for Chinese consumers in the next three years, 10 of which are new energy models.

Ford sold a total of 131000 vehicles in China in the third quarter, down 30.3% from the same period last year, according to official figures from Ford China. The total retail volume of Ford models in September was 28000, up 5 per cent from August and 25 per cent from July.
