AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)11/18 Report--

With the wave of "boycotting Japanese goods" in South Korea in recent months, it can be said that South Korean consumers use actions to prove that they will not buy if they do not buy. Anti-Japanese sentiment has been growing in South Korea since Japan announced on July 1 that it would restrict the export of raw materials used to make semiconductor chips. As a result, sales of Japanese cars in South Korea continued to decline, and some Japanese brands even offered a concession of about 90,000 yuan for a car.

However, with Japanese cars in order to restore sales in South Korea, do not hesitate to cry discounts, sales also began to rebound, in October, Japanese cars in South Korea for the first time than the previous month increased by 80%, down 58.4% year-on-year, a total of 1977 vehicles.

In the first half of this year, before South Korea's "boycott of Japanese goods" began, sales of Japanese cars in South Korea were still growing, up 10.8% from the same period last year, setting a new record for the same period. However, after Japan imposed economic sanctions on South Korea in July, sales of Japanese cars in South Korea gradually declined. Sales of Japanese cars in South Korea fell 17.2% in July from a year earlier, plunged 56.9% in August and expanded to 59.8% in September.

A car importer said that in fact, in the early days of the boycott of Japanese goods, many people thought that sales would not rise. But now Japanese cars are responding quickly to changes in the market through substantial interest concessions. In the face of such aggressive concession discounts, South Korean consumers are beginning to be tempted, and South Korea's boycott of Japanese goods is likely to disappear from the auto industry.

It is understood that at present, if you buy a new car in any Japanese 4S store in South Korea, you can get a refueling card of tens of thousands of yuan, and some models give a big discount. Honda's pilot SUV, for example, offers a maximum profit of 15 million won, while Nissan offers a discount of about 33000 yuan, while Infiniti has offered a discount of up to 20% since this month.

Some analysts pointed out that Japanese car companies rarely discount sales in the South Korean market, this large-scale promotion is really helpless, but also to achieve a breakthrough at the end of the year.

For this movement, many South Koreans are worried that it will lead to infighting between South Koreans. Previously, some South Korean gas stations and repair shops refused to provide refueling and maintenance services for Japanese cars.

In this regard, someone said on the online media, "if we do not know whether the people we attacked are our friends or enemies, then this war will never be won." Others believe that "the victim of refusing to refuel Japanese cars at gas stations is not the Japanese government, but South Korean car owners."

In fact, the practice of South Koreans can not be criticized, after all, for any country, we must first let their own brands gain a foothold at home before they can compete with foreign brands. In the special period, consumers take some special measures to express their feelings, which is inevitable. While supporting domestic products, we should also respect the consumption behavior of other consumers and treat everything rationally.
