Today, the 2019 Los Angeles Motor Show officially opened, and BMW officially launched a new generation of 3-series plug-in hybrid version, the BMW 330e. The car is no different in appearance from the new BMW 3-Series on sale, with a plug-in hybrid system of 2.0T + motor and a 12kWh capacity battery with a pure NEDC mileage of 59-66km, at least 50 per cent higher than the previous generation.

The appearance of the BMW 330e is no different from that of the fuel version, mainly due to the addition of a charging port cover on the left front fender and a change in the tail mark. BMW has not yet prepared an M sports suit for 330e, including sporty front enclosure, bright black detail painting, M logo on the body and so on.

The powertrain of the BMW 330e will be equipped with a 2.0T engine with a maximum power of 184Ps, accompanied by a motor with a maximum power of 113Ps and a combined maximum power of 252Ps. When the vehicle is in XtraBoost mode, the powertrain will also add additional 40Ps to enable the car to achieve a 0-100km/h acceleration of 5.9 seconds.

The BMW 330e also has a 12kWh capacity battery and a 59-66km NEDC pure electric mileage, at least 50 per cent higher than the previous generation. However, because the battery pack is placed under the rear seat and the fuel tank is above the rear bridge, it will have a certain impact on the space in the trunk. It is understood that the BMW 330e will be launched on the global market soon, but there is no news as to when it will enter China.

After the launch of the BMW 330e, it may become another exclusive model in the Chinese market after the gasoline version of the long wheelbase 3 series. Under the trend of increasingly stringent emission regulations, rising oil prices and license plate restrictions, such plug-in hybrid cars have certain development prospects, and in first-tier cities, the demand for these models is often greater.

At present, the new 3 Series of Standard Axle may be unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show tomorrow. It is expected that the 330gasoline model will be launched next year. With reference to the time when the previous 5 series launched the mixed version, it is predicted that the 330Le will be launched in 2021.
