SAIC-Volkswagen unveiled a new MPV model at the Guangzhou Auto Show on November 22nd. The new car is called Viloran in English but its Chinese name is still unknown. However, according to the China Trademark Network, SAIC-Volkswagen has long registered the trademark "Wei Wei", and the car may be named "Wei Wei" in Chinese.

The appearance continues the design language of the Volkswagen family, the front face of the new car is integrated with LED headlights with banner chrome-plated screen, and the front lips also have chrome-plated strips. The rear of the car is simple in design and affixed with the "Viloran" logo. After its launch, the car will be the largest model on sale under the Volkswagen brand, with a length of 5300mm, a wheelbase of 3180mm and a width of 2000mm.

Officials have not disclosed much about the interior of the new car, but according to previous news, the interior design of the car is basically the same as that of Tu'eng, with a symmetrical central control layout, a large central control screen and an electric side sliding door.

In terms of power, according to the 380TSI logo on the rear of the car, we can judge that Weiang will be equipped with a 2.0T high-power engine with a maximum power 162kW, matching a seven-gear dual clutch transmission.

At present, the performance of MPV models in the market is not hot, the overall competition is not very fierce, most MPV models are mainly for household use, with little emphasis on commercial use. However, although the growth of the MPV market is limited, Buick GL8 sales have been ranked at the top of their peers, occupying most of the market.

Volkswagen's Tuan L and Sharon can not impact the status of Buick GL8. As Volkswagen's first luxury business MPV, Viloran is obviously to make up for the deficiency in the MPV camp. From the currently known data, Viloran has a certain advantage over Buick GL8. The price of the car has not been disclosed and is expected to be officially launched in the first half of 2020.
