According to foreign media reports, Volkswagen's Audi brand is in talks with BYD about the supply of batteries for domestic electric vehicles, and if the cooperation plan between Audi and BYD is reached, it will become the second manufacturer after Toyota to use BYD power batteries.

In August, there were media reports that Audi and BYD had reached a battery supply agreement, but BYD denied the report, saying that the two sides were indeed in talks on battery supply, but no agreement had been reached.

Previously, Volkswagen Group has announced that it will invest 60 billion euros in electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles and other areas by 2024, and launch 75 all-electric models and 60 hybrid models by the end of 2029. In the future, Audi will be the biggest source of profit for Volkswagen Group, with more than 1/3 of consumers coming from China.

Wu Jiabi, president of Audi China, said Audi will sell more new energy vehicles in the Chinese market in the next two years, more than half of which are pure electric models.

With the development of electrification, the new energy vehicle market has also become a "cake" for all major car companies to compete with each other.

In the front-line luxury car brand camp, Mercedes-Benz and BMW have also accelerated the development of electrification and launched new models one after another. However, due to the decline of new energy subsidies and the downturn in the auto market, sales of new energy vehicles have declined for four consecutive months and are expected to continue the trend of negative growth in the short term.
