According to the latest motor vehicle traffic insurance data released by the CIRC, the number of new cars registered by the new car-building forces rose to 6459 in October, with a cumulative total of 50218 from January to October.
Since the decline of subsidies for new energy vehicles in June this year, sales of new energy vehicles have declined for four consecutive months. The decline in new energy sales from July to September has gradually widened, falling 3.8 per cent, 21.7 per cent and 34.8 per cent respectively, and new energy vehicle sales fell 45.4 per cent year-on-year in October. The sales of new energy vehicles continue to decline, causing concerns about the development prospects of new energy vehicles in the industry.
It is worth noting that in the severe car market and subsidized slope environment, the number of new car-building forces on the license has increased compared with last month.
According to traffic insurance data, the top three brands of car-building new power products in October this year are NIO ES6, Weima EX5 and Xiaopeng G3, with more than 1,000 models of these three brands; from January to October, the top three brands of car-building new forces are NIO, Weima and Xiaopeng, respectively, with a cumulative license volume of 14947, 14286 and 11944 respectively.
Among the top three brands, Lulai ES6 registered 2201 vehicles, up 32 per cent from the previous month.
After the formal delivery of ES6 in June this year, the listing volume and production have increased significantly, especially the expansion of the sales network after September, so that the number of NIO orders accelerated growth.
However, under the continuous growth of the license volume of the ES6, the license volume of the ES8 is very bleak, with only 313 vehicles listed in October this year. Since April this year, the ES8 has experienced frequent spontaneous combustion, forcing it to recall 4803 ES8 vehicles to the State Market Supervision Administration in June, accounting for 27.3% of the total ES8 sales.
The active recall of the defective ES8 will not restore consumer trust in the product, coupled with the decline in subsidies for new energy vehicles and the introduction of higher-performance ES6, resulting in persistently low ES8 sales.
The second place is Weimar EX5, with a significant increase in license volume compared with last month. Data show that the number of Weimar brands in October this year was 1630, an increase of 22% compared with the previous month.
On November 22nd, Weima's second pure electric SUV- Weima EX6 Plus officially went on sale at Guangzhou Auto Show, with a price of 239900 yuan after comprehensive subsidy. The new car continues the design of Weimar EX5, but has a significant improvement in technology and appearance. In terms of power, the Weimar EX6 Plus is equipped with a motor from BergWarner with a maximum power of 160kW (218 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 315N ·m. With a ternary lithium battery pack, the NEDC will be able to achieve 500km mileage.
Judging from the license volume from January to October, there is only a gap of 661 between Weimar and NIO. In the last two months, Weimar is likely to surpass NIO.
Unlike the above two car companies, the Xiaopeng G3 showed a downward trend, with 1015 vehicles registered in October, down 31 per cent from the previous month.
Xiaopeng G3 2020 model was officially delivered in September, due to the improvement of the new model in terms of battery life and configuration, but the price is the same, triggering some 2019 old car owners to organize a collective protest, demanding that Xiaopeng be treated fairly. Now the storm has calmed down, but the impact on Xiaopeng G3 has not stopped.
It is worth noting that Xiaopeng recently completed a $400m C-round financing, Xiaopeng's second pure electric car-Xiaopeng P7 also opened pre-sale at Guangzhou Auto Show, the pre-sale price range is 27-370000 yuan, four-wheel drive high-performance model NEDC has a range of 550 miles, rear-drive ultra-long-range model NEDC comprehensive mileage 650+km, the new car will be officially delivered in the second quarter of 2020.
He Xiaopeng said that after the listing, Xiaopeng P7 will compete with Tesla Model 3 and crush Model 3. Xiaopeng P7 does have certain advantages from all sides, but it is still unknown whether consumers can buy it.
In addition, Nashi N01 ranked fourth, with 985 vehicles registered in October, an increase of 18% over the previous month, and zero running S01 ranked sixth with 183 vehicles registered in October.
As for the sales volume of other new power models, there are no more than 100. Judging from the current situation, the current situation of new forces building cars with Weimar, Xiaopeng, and Weimar has formed a situation of "tripartite confrontation among the three kingdoms". The sales volume of the three can almost account for about 90% of the total sales volume, but it is still very difficult for bears to make a profit.
2019 is about to pass, and after 2020, many new power car manufacturers will join the market. Aichi U5, Skyline ME7, and ideal ONE have listed delivery plans, and the domestic version of Model 3 will be officially delivered in the first quarter of next year.
