According to the person in charge of Huanqiao Jiaxing car Rental Co., Ltd., nearly 2000 electric cars have been put into operation in more than two years, but only about 600 have run on the market, and the rest are in two field parking lots in Xiuzhou District, Jiaxing. The main reason is that the cars are seriously damaged, and the cars are all old models, almost no one uses them.

It is worth noting that the empty electric car "graveyard" in Xiuzhou District, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province may not be the only one, that is to say, there are many similar electric car "graveyards" across the country.

According to statistics, from 2012 to 2015, the sales of new energy vehicles in China were 12000, 17600, 74700 and 331000 respectively, and the sales increased year after year. Thanks to subsidies for new energy vehicles, sales of new energy vehicles reached 507000 in 2016, 777000 in 2017 and 1.256 million in 2018. Only 947000 new energy vehicles were sold from January to October 2019.

Judging from the sales data, new energy vehicles seem to have made great progress in recent years, but of the 947000 electric vehicles sold, how many electric vehicles are actually delivered to car owners? From January to October this year, a total of 713000 new energy passenger vehicles were insured, according to data from the Bancassurance Regulatory Commission. Among them, the ownership of 371000 vehicles insured is "individual", accounting for 52% of the total, 135000 vehicles are "units", accounting for 19%, and another 207000 vehicles are "unknown", accounting for 29%.

Wang Yongqing, general manager of SAIC GM, has said that the two problems of high battery cost and low residual value of second-hand electric vehicles can not be solved, real demand is difficult to appear, and car companies will be very difficult. From January to September 2019, only more than 100,000 electric vehicles were sold to individual users, and the rest were put into the B-end travel market.

In other words, with the growth of sales of new energy vehicles, not many of them are actually delivered to individual consumers, and they are likely to be put into the car rental market.

It is worth noting that new energy seems to have become the development trend of the automobile industry. At present, major automobile companies have increased their capital and technology investment in the field of electric vehicles, and released travel brands, including Lifan Wanda car, Geely Cao Cao Travel, BAIC Huaxia Travel, BMW immediate Travel, FAW Flag Travel, SAIC Hengdao Travel, Guangzhou Automobile, such as Qi Travel and Weima, etc. Among them, BYD, BAIC New Energy, Geely and SAIC passenger cars are the car companies with the largest sales of new energy vehicles from January to October this year, and the models with the highest sales are basically those that focus on the rental market.

The EU series of BAIC New Energy is not only the highest selling model of BAIC New Energy, but also the top one in the new energy vehicle market for many times. In addition, the sales of new energy models such as BYD E5, Roewe Ei5 and Dihao EV are relatively high, but most of the sales are driven by the rental market.

From the sales of new energy vehicles in recent years, the rapid development of new energy vehicles, in addition to the strong support of the state, the rise and launch of the travel market has also increased the sales of new energy vehicles. Nowadays, new energy vehicles speed up the replacement of taxis, ride-hailing cars, buses and even household vehicles. It has to be said that new energy vehicles have made great progress in product types, configuration, battery life and so on. However, the elimination of new energy vehicles is not the real demand of consumers, coupled with the problems of new energy vehicle quality and low value preservation rate, which greatly limit the sales growth of new energy vehicles.
