AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)11/30 Report--

Recently, Tesla officially launched the new Cybertruck, the first pickup truck in the United States, and the unique appearance of this pickup truck attracted a lot of attention at the press conference. Since its release, it has received 250000 orders, and recently it is rumored that Tesla is speeding up the layout of other models.

Tesla officially launched the Model Y in March, an all-electric SUV based on Model 3 with a range of up to 300 miles. At the beginning of its release, Tesla had planned to put it into production in the autumn of 2020.

According to foreign media reports, Tesla's Model Y model is expected to start production faster than expected and can be delivered in small quantities to scheduled customers by the end of the year. Tesla's Model Y production capacity in the first quarter of next year will be more than half a year ahead of schedule.

Tesla Model Y has released four versions, namely, the standard continued version, the long-lasting version, the dual-motor all-wheel drive version and the Performance high-performance all-wheel drive version. The corresponding EPA mileage is 368km, 480km, 448km and 448km.

According to the plan announced at the time, with the exception of the standard endurance version, the other three versions are expected to go into production in the autumn of 2020 and begin delivery to Chinese consumers in 2021.

Tesla CEO Musk also announced that from the second quarter of this year, Tesla's Fremont plant is ready for production of Model Y and is expected to start production of Model Y in the summer of 2020.

At present, Tesla has made a request to its three suppliers to deliver the parts needed by Model Y six months in advance. These include Taiwan's LED factory Lianjia Optoelectronics, BizLink and Heda, the first two of which provide taillights, brake lights, harnesses, cables and wires for Model 3, respectively.

The acceleration of Model Y is largely related to Tesla's performance. Tesla's chief financial officer has said, "the profit margin of Model Y is expected to be higher than that of Model 3, but its production cost is roughly the same as that of Model 3." According to previous reports, at the Shanghai plant, Model Y and Model 3 will come from the same platform and share 75 per cent of the parts.

However, acceleration also means more pressure, Tesla service center has been due to the increase in Model 3 production and overload operation. For Tesla's entire supply chain, the challenge has only just begun.
