Three months ago, she received a Mercedes-Benz recall notice, and then went to the store to test that the shock absorber was broken and the 4S store was replaced. On December 2, the female car owner was ready to drive the car out of the basement of the community, when suddenly the car body stayed, and the whole car body stepped directly to the ground and could not drive.

According to the scene photos, the right front shock absorber of the vehicle may have been damaged and failed to support the vehicle to continue to drive normally, while the wheels are in direct contact with the body parts, the vehicle chassis is almost close to the ground, and there is no obvious abnormality around the garage.

The shock absorber of the Mercedes-Benz suddenly failed, and the female owner expressed concern about the quality of Mercedes-Benz. "if I were killed on the highway, I wouldn't dare to drive." She also said that now I dare not drive, 4S store staff only said to overhaul, change parts, I dare not drive this car now, there are two problems, causing great harm and psychological shadow to me, after-sales solution is not active.

In view of the fracture failure of shock absorbers of Mercedes-Benz E-class cars, the automobile industry has been concerned about many cases before, and many car owners have experienced a thrilling scene of sudden fracture while driving. According to media reports, in February 2019, Ms. Xiang in Xingyi, Guizhou Province, drove a new Mercedes-Benz E300L car bought only two months ago on the highway, and the front of the car suddenly sank. She said she was too scared to drive the Mercedes-Benz and asked for a return to the 4S store.

Mercedes-Benz finally decided to take recall measures to eliminate safety risks after the continuous exposure of the fracture problem of Mercedes-Benz shock absorber and the defect investigation initiated by the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration.

Mercedes-Benz recalled a total of 571496 vehicles, including 299780 E-Class and 271716 C-Class, in May 2019 because of the broken shock absorber. However, due to the lack of strength of the recall measures, Mercedes-Benz announced another recall in November, adding other enhanced firmware to the original recall. At the same time, 100000 new E-Class cars produced and sold in accordance with the original recall measures will also be recalled. As a result, Mercedes-Benz recalled a total of 670000 vehicles on the potential fracture of shock absorbers, including some domestic E-class two-wheel drive cars produced from February 25, 2016 to October 27, 2019.

According to Mercedes-Benz officials, when the front shock absorber of a vehicle is impacted by a large external force, it may cause damage to the shock absorber and deformation and bending of the shock absorber fork head, or even lead to the bushing of the lower control arm of the vehicle protruding, which in extreme cases may lead to the fracture of the shock absorber fork head. There is a safety risk. The recall measure is to replace the improved front shock absorber or strengthening components, and the second recall is to add other reinforced firmware on the basis of the original recall measures to strengthen the strength of the related components.

The rupture of the shock absorber is a great hidden danger to driving safety.
