AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)12/04 Report--

In response to a report that SAIC Volkswagen Skoda suspected of selling typhoon water trucks and "optimizing" the vehicles to be sold as inventory vehicles, Skoda customer service staff responded, saying that Skoda could not have bubble cars and would not sell them to users. At the same time, Skoda PR staff said that they were investigating the situation and would reply to the progress in a timely manner.

Yesterday, Skoda was exposed to the time of the sale of typhoon water trucks in the major media widely circulated. It is reported that two emails with the theme of "quality damaged cars and Chief Minister Ku Ling vehicle disposal Plan" were exposed by the media, including the sales process and vehicle information.

Judging from the email message, it was sent to the dealers of 51 4S stores in Skoda Greater East China at the end of 2014, requiring the entire region to digest and deal with 59 "long-aged vehicles and quality-damaged vehicles."

A total of 59 vehicles were involved, including the model, frame number and factory date of each vehicle, as well as which dealer outlets each model was assigned to. Of the 39 vehicles that were flooded by Typhoon Fitt in Shanghai in 2013, 14 were digested internally by RBO, while the remaining 25 were reported through 4S stores or diverted through random matching.

In order to verify the situation, some media conducted an investigation on a part of the vehicle information randomly selected, found the owner involved and found that the owner had "no knowledge" that the vehicle he bought was a water truck. In order to further ascertain the situation, the Shanghai Volkswagen customer service hotline was consulted, but the department in charge of media publicity said that the relevant issues would be reported and feedback, and had not yet responded to the authenticity of the email and the allegations of selling water tankers.

According to several owners of the vehicles involved, when they bought the cars at that time, the sales only informed them that there was a discount on the cars in stock, which was much better than that of the new cars, and consumers also accepted them. One of the owners, Mr. Huang, said at first glance that although the car was covered with dust, the sales said it was the last garage car, and finally bought it due to various factors.

The car purchased is the Mingrui 1.4T automatic Yizhi car, which was purchased from Suzhou Huameidu Automobile sales and Service Co., Ltd., according to the market guidance price of that year was 147600 yuan, and the external asking price in Suzhou was about 4300 yuan higher than this. But Mr. Huang finally bought it for 138300 yuan (including insurance and purchase tax). Mr. Huang also said that if it hadn't been for the current exposure, he would still be in the dark.

As for the problem with the vehicle, Mr. Huang said that there was nothing unusual in appearance except for the rust of the disc brake ring at the time of purchase, but in use, "the tire pressure lamp will turn on repeatedly, and I have to keep pumping the tires and manually clear the alarm."

According to the email, Suzhou Huameidu Automobile sales and Service Co., Ltd. was assigned to three accident cars at that time, and now wants to verify the incident at Suzhou Huameidu 4S store, but the store said that at the beginning of 2016, the staff of the store, including the sales manager, "changed blood", so it is impossible to find out whether the store has sold water trucks.

In this regard, some lawyers said that when 4S stores sell quality-damaged cars, they should add a note on the vehicle inspection certificate, and sign a "quality-damaged car sales contract" with consumers, or provide consumers with a notice of quality-damaged cars. Otherwise, they all constitute commercial fraud and seriously infringe upon the interests of consumers, and they should bear civil liability such as return and replacement.

Many sellers will sell "problem" vehicles at very favorable prices, and consumers should also consider them carefully when buying them. Of course, some cases are also individual cases. At the same time, some "problem" vehicles are not even known to the sales staff, but consumption should be reasonably protected when faced with real problems.
