AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)03/19 Report--

According to the current popularity of electric vehicles, 3 million jobs could be lost in the auto industry in the next three to five years, foreign analyst Adam Jonas said recently.

In its latest research report, it is pointed out that the labor force of the traditional automobile industry will face severe and extensive changes, as electric car factories all try to enter the mainstream market. In particular, as Tex and other companies are pushing large automakers to bring electric vehicles into the mainstream market, it is bound to lead to a large number of layoffs in the traditional automobile industry.

Jonas has a wide following on Wall Street because of his early attention to Tesla and his ideas on electric cars. Recently, he began to emphasize how electric car startups can challenge traditional carmakers by changing the way cars are made.

Herbert Dis, chief executive of Volkswagen Group, recently said that at the same price, the production of an electric car saves 30% of the labor force than a conventional fuel car, even if only 30% of the labor force is cut. but over time, carmakers are expected to save more than $60 billion. At present, the supply chain of the global traditional automobile industry provides about 11 million jobs. With the development and popularity of electric vehicles, global car factories may cut 3 million jobs, and this number is likely to continue to grow in the future.

Jonas also pointed out that electric car factories such as Tesla and Rivian can reduce their manpower by 50% or more, while in the future, the traditional automobile industry may be hit by the rise of electric cars and will have to face the problems and pressure of transformation.
