Kia Soul EV made its debut at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, but at the recently concluded Guangzhou Auto Show, Kia brought the Soul EV special edition to the booth for the first time in China. It is reported that the new car volume production version will be unveiled as soon as March next year, and delivery will begin in April.

Kia Soul EV is positioned as an urban crossover and still maintains a square design in the shape of the new car, except that the front is equipped with a closed front grille and the charging interface is located in the front area. At the same time, the headlamp adopts a split design, and the LED daily walking lamp runs through the whole front face.

The roof is designed with color separation on the side. The change in the rear of the car compared with the previous generation is more obvious, using the overall C-shaped taillight group design, the size is more exaggerated connected to the roof.

There is a big contrast between interior decoration and appearance, there are many arc designs, such as oval center control design, knob shift design, as well as round multi-function steering wheel buttons, the overall look of BMW mini, but also the appearance of founder, with a circular design of the interior.

The Soul EV is equipped with a motor with the maximum power 204Ps, the total capacity of the battery pack is 64kWh, and the official pure electric mileage is 475km. The battery pack can be recharged from 30% to 80% in 75 minutes by using DC fast charging.

It is not known whether this model, which once entered China and then withdrew from the Chinese market, will return to the domestic market as an electric car, but Kia's determination can be seen when Kia brought the model to the Guangzhou Auto Show to show its future electrification strategic plan. It can be said that at this auto show, the Kia booth more reflects the change of automobile electrification and intelligence in the future.

At present, Korean cars have gradually lost their market share in China. In the face of the inability of fuel vehicles to turn around, Kia announced that it will launch 16 new energy models by 2025. It includes 5 pure electric models, 5 hybrid models, 5 plug-in hybrid models and 1 fuel cell model. But whether it can really recover through transformation, Kia will face more competitors.
