Toyota's global structure adjustment, in addition to the appointment of new executives, the establishment of a production engineering development center, the most important thing is the independence of the Chinese business. Toyota officially announced that from January 1, 2020, Toyota will split the Asian region into "China business" and "Asian business", the two major businesses will exist separately. "China and Asia are separated because of the importance of the Chinese market and other Asian markets," the company said. " This initiative enables leaders in each operation and region to implement the necessary strategies based on rapid decision-making and to strengthen and accelerate implementation capacity.

Toyota President Akio Toyoda has said that China is Toyota's most important market in the world. In terms of sales, China is Toyota's third largest market, after the United States and Japan. From January to October this year, Toyota sold a total of 8.047 million vehicles worldwide, an increase of 1.6 percent over the same period last year, of which sales in the Chinese market reached 1.31 million, an increase of 7.2 percent over the same period last year, and is expected to achieve the target of 1.6 million.

There are signs that Toyota has shifted its focus to the Chinese market.

Toyota is further strengthening its production layout in the Chinese market. Toyota plans to double its car production capacity in China by 2020. The main measures and plans taken by Toyota are to expand the production capacity of the Tianjin plant of FAW Toyota, the Guangzhou plant of Guangzhou FAW Toyota, and the Chengdu plant of Sichuan FAW Toyota, respectively, through the expansion of the plant. By then, the total production capacity in China will reach 2 million vehicles per year.

In terms of electrification, Toyota plans to launch 10 all-electric models in China by 2025. In November this year, Toyota also signed a joint venture agreement with BYD on the establishment of a pure electric vehicle research and development company, which will be formally established in 2020. The two sides will jointly carry out the related business of pure electric vehicles and vehicle platforms, parts design and research and development.

In addition, Akio Toyoda came to China in September this year and signed agreements with joint venture partners FAW Group and GAC GROUP to further deepen technical cooperation in the fields of new energy vehicles, energy-efficient vehicles and intelligent networks. specifically, including fuel cell technology, hybrid technology, electric vehicles and other cooperation.

Toyota's upgrading of its position in the Chinese market will enhance its business capacity in China, and perhaps there will be more local products in the future.
