Nowadays, it is nothing new for independent brands to open up overseas markets as export models, and car companies such as Great Wall, Geely and Lifan have already achieved great results in overseas markets. As the earliest independent high-end brand, Quan Zhi Automobile will eventually open up its first overseas market under Baoneng and will be sold to the Iraqi market.

It is understood that this is Quan Zhi Automobile fully relying on Baoneng Group resources to achieve overseas business expansion. This time, in line with Baoneng Group's international operation objectives and with Baoneng Automobile Import and Export Corporation to distribute overseas markets, agreements have been signed with a number of potential partners in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and Central and South America, in order to promote and sell Qoros cars locally.

Founded in December 2007, Qoros is the first global high-end brand launched by Chery, and it is also the pioneer for independent brands to set foot in the high-end market, which is considered by many to be Chery's independent car brand. in fact, it is not complete. Qoros is a nationalized automobile brand jointly funded by Chery and Israel Group, with Central Europe as the strategic location, and the models are mainly made in China and European quality. He has won many world automobile awards, including the Red Dot Design Award.

However, during the period when Chery controlled Qoros, Qoros did not develop smoothly. Sales in both China and Europe remained sluggish, resulting in performance losses, and soon Guanzhi withdrew from the European market. Although it has a certain product strength, but excessive pricing and maintenance, as well as the lack of marketing means, and then experienced high-level upheaval, so that it continues to decline.

According to data, the net loss was 2.2 billion yuan in 2014, 2.5 billion yuan in 2015 and 1.9 billion yuan in 2016, with a three-year net loss of 6.6 billion yuan. Coupled with the previous losses, Guanzhi has already lost more than 10 billion yuan.

In desperation, Chery made the decision to transfer its shares and formally transferred Qoros to Baoneng in December 2017. Baoneng took a 51 per cent stake in Qoros for 6.63 billion yuan. The formation of Baoneng, Chery Automobile, Quantum Company tripartite shareholder control, Baoneng is the major shareholder.

Sales did rise after Baoneng took over. Before Baoneng took over, Qoros basically maintained sales of nearly 1000 units, with a peak of 3500. It began to show an upward trend in 2018, selling about 5000 units each, and the exploration found that the soaring sales of Qoros cars did not seem to come from end consumers, but from the massive purchase of linked cloud rental cars owned by Baoneng. As the car rental platform covers more than 20 cities, so the demand is not small.

Originally, Baoneng formed a new team after taking over Quan Zhi, but the team was disbanded under pressure because it failed to achieve the desired goal. In February, Baoneng appointed a new management team to revive Bao Neng and brought in more international talent, but the effect was still insignificant, with frequent personnel changes adding to Guanzhi's confusion.

At the Shanghai Auto Show in April this year, more than 40 Quan Zhi dealers from all over the country defended their rights, all wearing T-shirts of "Baoneng Guanzhi deceptive operation". As a result, many dealers have decided to withdraw from the network. Some outsiders think that Baoneng is more amateur than Chery, and many problems cannot be solved. Perhaps Chery's non-transfer is not so bleak.

According to the latest Qoros sales figures, sales totaled 19233 vehicles from January to October this year, down 64% from a year earlier. It averaged around 200 in the first four months of this year, as low as 30 in April, and more than 3000 from May to October.
