AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)12/10 Report--

Cadillac is an American brand, and CT6 is its flagship model, but there has been news that CT6 will stop production in the United States in its home market and will only be produced in China in the future, which means that Cadillac CT6 will only have Chinese-made models. According to the latest report, Cadillac CT6 and CT6 V-Sport, which were scheduled to stop production in June 2019, will be postponed to January 2020, while production in China will continue.

In fact, for Cadillac, such behavior has not occurred since its inception in 1902. The Cadillac CT6, which was first launched in 2015, is also regarded as the flagship car of the Cadillac brand. On January 27, 2016, CT6 officially entered the Chinese market and produced at the Jinqiao factory in Shanghai.

This is just a three-year-old model that is planned to stop production, which means that the CT6 will not sell well even in its home market in North America. Since its launch, the CT6 has sold 9169 units in the United States in 2016 and 10542 in 2017, and is currently in a serious sluggish market.

In the domestic market, although CT6 sales have been on an upward trend this year and have become one of the growth points of Cadillac, what can be seen is that CT6's monthly sales are floating at 2000 units, which is a very big gap from the ATSL before the suspension of production. After all, as a flagship model, it is relatively difficult to sell.

The suspension of production of the local Cadillac CT6 is also part of GM's plan to reduce costs after a large number of losses caused by the United Auto Workers (UAW) strike and extensive layoffs, including CT6's North American production plant in low Detroit. And the CT6 is a car that doesn't sell well, so it's one of the right choices to reduce productivity.

In addition, China, as one of the major industrial countries in the world, it is also a good choice to resell domestic CT6 to the United States market. After all, China has a complete industrial sector, and labor is much cheaper than the United States. Even if companies like Apple and Tesla do this, Cadillac can do it. After all, in the current downturn in the global auto market, cost reduction is the most important.

According to the latest Cadillac sales figures, Cadillac sold 16800 vehicles in China in November, down 20 per cent from a year earlier, while cumulative sales in the previous month were 194800, down 5.76 per cent from a year earlier. It is also the only luxury brand in China that declined in November.
