Warning notice on the hidden danger of falling triangular glass strips in some imported Mercedes-Benz cars

Recently, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. wrote to us that due to parts design deviation, some imported Mercedes-Benz GLE and GLS vehicles have the risk of falling back door triangular glass strips during driving, and some vehicles have entered the domestic market (a total of 5332 units). The risk assessment report of technical institutions shows that there are some hidden dangers in the above problems, which can be effectively eliminated by installing fastening gaskets.

The General Administration of Customs has asked local customs to suspend the release of problematic vehicles in stock at ports, closely supervise enterprises to implement technical rectification by adding fastening gaskets, and confirm the effect of rectification and re-inspection before release. At the same time, the General Administration of Customs has urged enterprises to take the initiative to contact users and implement risk mitigation measures for problem vehicles that have entered the domestic market as soon as possible according to the same requirements. Users can also contact Beijing Mercedes-Benz sales and Service Co., Ltd. for consultation by calling the hotline (400-8181188) or sending e-mail (email: customercare_cn@daimler.com).

It is hereby announced.
