In June this year, SAIC Audi has confirmed that the model is Audi A7L, that is, the A7 will not only be made in China but also lengthened, and the price after domestic production is also the most concerned issue.

At the Guangzhou Auto Show just ended this year, Audi brought a new imported A7 model and added an entry-level 2.0T model, which suddenly lowered the starting price of the original 790,800 3.0T threshold model to 573,800 yuan.

However, after the new A7L is made in China, it can cancel the relatively high tariff cost, and at the same time, under the domestic supply chain, the price can be reduced again, because A7 is positioned at a higher level than A6 in terms of numbers. It is estimated that the starting price of the new car of the domestic version of A7L will be about 500,000 yuan based on the starting price of 450,000 yuan imported A6.

Although Audi A7 is a higher level than Audi A6, in fact, A7 is only a coupe version derived from A6. Both are built on MLB Evo platform, and the wheelbase difference of overseas models is 4 mm. With reference to the gap between Audi's A6 and A8 standard axle versions, it is expected that the A7L domestic rear wheelbase will be lengthened by 100mm to 3028mm; at present, the wheelbase of the domestic A6L is 3024mm, so it can be said that the space will be greatly improved.

At present, Audi A6 in China has returned to the top of the list of high-end cars over time. It can be imagined that after the new A6 came out, the sales volume of A6 dropped sharply, and it was only through terminal discount that it returned to the champion position for the first time in November this year. If the domestic A7L also adopts the terminal price discount, it may threaten Mercedes-Benz E-class and BMW 5 series, and may even snatch a certain market share of Audi A6. After all, it has the body design of coupe positioning and the same superior body space as A6, which is believed to be selected by more potential customers.

The appearance of domestic A7L will provide more choices for consumers. After all, imported A7 has higher price, but there is no more space, which does not meet the needs of domestic consumers. Therefore, domestic A7 will solve the most concerned problems of consumers and is expected to become a model with the same volume as A6.
