AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)02/14 Report--

A few days ago, according to foreign media reports, Stuttgart prosecutors are investigating Bosch. The reason for the investigation is that the engine management software provided by Bosch for the Volkswagen "emission gate" is suspected of cheating. It is understood that as early as 2015, Volkswagen carried out car emission tests with software provided by Bosch, resulting in the "emission gate" scandal, for which Bosch may face huge claims from Volkswagen and huge fines from the local government.

The Volkswagen "emission door" scandal began in September 2015. On September 18, 2015, the US Environmental Protection Agency accused some diesel vehicles sold by Volkswagen of being equipped with special software to deal with exhaust emission testing. It can identify whether the car is in a state of testing, and then secretly start during the vehicle inspection, so that the car can pass the customs with "high environmental standards" during the vehicle inspection, while driving in normal times. These cars emit large amounts of pollutants, up to 40 times the legal standard in the United States.

Models involved in illegal emissions include Jetta, the Beatles, Golf, Audi A3 and the 2014-2015 Passat sold after 2008. Under the Clean Air Act, each car that emits illegal emissions can be fined up to $37500, for a total of up to $18 billion.

In June 2018, Volkswagen admitted that the "exhaust valve" incident was its own fault and was willing to take responsibility accordingly.

The impact of the "emission door" incident on Volkswagen is undoubtedly huge, and the sale of a number of models is banned. At present, according to industry insiders, Volkswagen is considering whether to claim huge reparations from Bosch.

According to relevant information, Bosch is one of the German industrial enterprises, whose business involves automotive and intelligent transportation technology, industrial technology, consumer goods and energy, and began to provide engine management software for Volkswagen in 2015.
