AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)12/13 Report--
According to the report on the value preservation rate of Chinese cars in November 2019 released by the China Automobile Circulation Association, the average value preservation rate of three-year-old pure electric new energy vehicles is 36.4%, which is much lower than that of traditional fuel vehicles. In the ranking of the preservation rate of new energy vehicles, only Tesla Model X (three years old) has a preservation rate of 63.9%, while most other new energy models have a preservation rate of less than 50%.
In addition, according to the "report on the preservation rate of Chinese cars in 2019" released by the China Automotive Finance and Preservation rate Research Committee, the top three pure electric vehicles with preservation rates are Tesla Model X, Tesla Model S and Xilai ES8, with one-year-old preservation rates of 67.46%, 65.32% and 51.28% respectively, while other pure electric models are all less than 50%.
Recently, there have been media reports that the battery life of early new energy vehicles is insufficient due to battery decay, and car owners either change batteries at high prices or at low prices, but no matter how they choose, they are very distressing to car owners. and even if car owners want to sell at a low price, second-hand car dealers do not necessarily accept, because buyers may not necessarily buy, this is the current dilemma of second-hand new energy vehicles.
According to public data, 40% of fuel vehicles were sold that month after they were put on the used car platform, while new energy used cars were sold less than 10% in the same month.
A car dealer said that the electric car he bought at half price could not be sold after eight months, and he finally lost tens of thousands of yuan before he sold it. According to car dealers, there is a standard for the purchase of new energy vehicles, and there is no charge for those with mileage of more than 60,000 kilometers. after 60,000 kilometers, the battery of new energy vehicles will be seriously attenuated and cannot guarantee their battery service. if you want to continue to use, you must replace the battery, but the price of replacing the battery is very high, which is basically the same as the price of buying a new energy used car.
The China Automobile Circulation Association said that the main factors affecting the price of new energy used cars include brand, battery life and the terminal price of new cars. These factors work together. For second-hand new energy vehicles, the brand premium determines the value preservation rate of the model, which is part of the residual value of the vehicle.
In view of consumers' concerns about the value preservation rate of new energy vehicles, some car companies have also put forward relevant buyback policies. In 2016, BAIC New Energy proposed to live enough new energy vehicles at 45% of the market price; in 2018, Yundu Motor proposed to buy back and buy new energy used cars with a driving range of 60,000 kilometers for three years. Car companies such as BYD and Dongfeng Nissan also have corresponding buyback plans. Tesla, NIO and Weima can directly certify used car sales on their official websites.
Industry insiders said that the main purpose of the move is to allay consumers' concerns about the value preservation rate of new energy vehicles, and to let consumers buy updated models through buyback, so that consumers can become "repeat customers".
According to the China Automobile Association, from January to November, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China were 1.093 million and 1.043 million respectively, up 3.6 per cent and 1.3 per cent respectively over the same period last year.
At present, more than 80% of the new energy vehicles sold on the market are put into the B-end market, and most models are used to share travel and taxi business. Consumers' recognition of new energy vehicles is not high. Coupled with the concerns about the quality, battery life and value preservation rate of new energy vehicles, new energy vehicles are not favored by consumers.
