Autostat, a Russian auto industry analyst, recently released data showing that total sales of Chinese-branded cars in the Russian used car market reached 80500 in 2018, up 8.5 per cent from a year earlier.

It is understood that Chinese car brand Chery is the most popular in the Russian used car market, selling 25100 units in 2018, an increase of 3.7 per cent over the same period last year. It was closely followed by Lifan, which sold 20200 vehicles, up 13.6 per cent from a year earlier. In third place was Geely, with sales of 14300 vehicles, an increase of 11.7%.

In terms of specific models, Chery led the sales of Ruihu, becoming the most popular model in the Russian used car market, with sales of 8600 used cars, up 5.6 per cent from a year earlier. Lifan Solano and Lifan x60 both ranked second and third, with sales of 7000 and 6200 respectively, up 4.3 per cent and 22.9 per cent respectively from a year earlier. The fourth and fifth places were Great Wall H3 and Geely Dihao, with sales of 6000 and 5000 respectively.
