According to sales data released by the China Automobile Association, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in November were 110000 and 95000 respectively, down 36.9% and 43.7% respectively from a year earlier. The cumulative production and sales of new energy vehicles from January to November were 1.093 million and 1.043 million, respectively, up 3.6% and 1.3% respectively.
In June, sales of new energy vehicles in China were 152000, an increase of 81 per cent over the same period last year. In the same month, the state began to slow down the amount of new energy subsidies, which was 70% lower than in 2018.

At present, consumers' recognition of new energy vehicles is not high. According to statistics, only about 20% of consumers buy new energy vehicles, and the rest are put into the B-end market. Coupled with the high price of new energy vehicles, the mileage is affected by a variety of uncertain factors, low value preservation rate, inconvenient charging, safety risks of automobile products and other problems, which are not competitive compared with traditional fuel vehicles. Car companies are more "forced" to develop new energy vehicles. Under the pressure of double points and the country's efforts to promote the development of new energy vehicles, major car companies have transformed to electrification one after another. If they are not invested in time, it will be surpassed or eliminated in the future.
Zeng Piquan, deputy secretary-general of the New Energy Automobile Branch of the China Automobile Circulation Association, holds a different view, saying that "although the difficulties encountered by new energy vehicles are greater than previously expected, the development of new energy vehicles in 2020 is still worth looking forward to." New energy vehicles are not only the pillar of the national economy, but also an important point of economic growth. Generally speaking, the state will not ignore us, the policy will certainly be on our side, and the policy next year will be more on the ground. "
Zeng Piquan predicts that the market of new energy vehicles may remain depressed in the first half of next year, and there may be a turnaround in the second half of the year, and the output of 2020 will certainly exceed that of this year.
Zeng Piquan predicted that after the formal promulgation of the industrial development plan for the next five years, the relevant parts of the country will release more policies conducive to the development of new energy vehicles and stimulate consumption through different policies. In addition, brand competition has also made the new energy vehicle market more benign. New energy vehicle brands have been eliminated by more than half than before. Manufacturers in the race field will compete to provide more high-quality products, which is conducive to the better development of new energy vehicles.
In fact, the key to the current development of new energy vehicles is not the level of sales, but how to make consumers accept the development of new energy vehicles.
