AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)12/21 Report--

Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the Administration of defective Automobile products recall and the measures for the implementation of defective Automobile products recall regulations. It is decided to recall some imported ALPHARD HYBRID and VELLFIRE HYBRID cars produced from August 19, 2019 to September 10, 2019, totaling 1380 vehicles.

Recall models:

(I) A total of 723 imported Elfa dual-engine vehicles produced during the period from August 19, 2019 to September 10, 2019.

(2) A total of 657 Wilfa twin-engine vehicles were imported from August 19, 2019 to September 6, 2019.

Reasons for recall:

For the rear seat belts of some vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to the imperfect adjustment of the assembly equipment by the supplier, the springs in the seatbelt retractor locking mechanism may be distorted and interfere with other parts during assembly, resulting in the locking mechanism not working properly. In the case of the collision of the vehicle, the seat belt may not be able to restrain the passengers effectively, so there are potential safety risks.

Solution:

Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will check the production number of the rear seat belt for vehicles within the scope of the recall, and replace the qualified rear seat belt assembly free of charge if it is a problem vehicle to eliminate safety risks.
