AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)12/21 Report--

As the first entry-level SUV model in China, Audi Q3 was first made and sold in 2013. After a mid-term revision of the 2017 model, it has been completely updated this year, with changes in appearance and interior and lengthening in size. For such a model that has just been replaced, Audi Guan Fang Ze said that shortening the life cycle of the new generation of Audi Q3 means that it will not launch a medium-term revamped model.

According to FAW-Volkswagen Audi Product Management Department, due to European regulatory changes, Audi will plan to shorten the life cycle of the new Audi Q3 model, so it will not make medium-term changes to the model.

However, in view of the fact that there are many competitors for the same model in China and the competition is quite fierce, if the model is not modified, the product strength of the model will lag behind that of the competitor, which may lead to a decline in market share. Therefore, after more than half a year of discussion, the two sides of the FAW-Volkswagen Audi joint venture finally signed a memorandum of understanding on the PA project of the Audi Q3 family, finalizing the planning of the domestic Q3 medium-term modified model, and the domestic Audi Q3 will continue to launch the medium-term modified model, which means that this is a "special version" created by Audi for the Chinese market.

According to officials, the Q3 mid-term revamped model also shoulders the company's strategic tasks of carbon emissions and home-made full imitation leather seats, that is, the new model will become the first 1.5T power model of FAW-Volkswagen, with full imitation leather seats.

The current Audi Q3 positioning is a compact SUV, equipped with 1.4T and high-and low-power version of 2.0T engine, the price is 27.18-359800, after the terminal discount in 222900. In fact, Q3 is also Audi's sales burden, once one of the best-selling luxury SUV, taking in 87400 vehicles in 2018, but sales have plummeted since the upgrade, with cumulative sales of only 51800 from January to October 2019, a total of-32.63% compared with the same period last year.

For example, the price of the BMW X1, which is listed later than the Q3, is still lower than the Q3, which makes consumers more receptive to the latter. Once with a large terminal discount of Q3, the discount can go to about 70, 000, 80, 000, and the starting price can be said to be less than 200000. It is still attractive to buy a luxury brand at such a price, but now it is only less than 50, 000.

Perhaps Q3 thinks that it is not the right time to rely on discounts. Audi, which is bound to be competitive as long as the price is down, knows very well that, just like Audi A6 and Q5 today, they have stood at the top of high-end cars and high-end SUV, with a discount rate of nearly 70, 000 yuan. Now that the market is in the doldrums, it is difficult for Audi to seize the market of Mercedes-Benz and BMW without discounts, so that Audi has no hope of winning the annual championship this year.

According to the latest sales figures, Audi sold 67402 new cars in China in November, up 16.8 per cent from a year earlier, and sold 618596 vehicles in the first 11 months, up 3.5 per cent from a year earlier.
