Lincoln Corsair, whose Chinese name is "adventurer", will be put into production by Changan Lincoln Joint Venture Company in the future. The car is positioned as a medium-sized SUV and can be seen as the successor to the current Lincoln MKC, powered by a 2.0T engine.
The Changan Lincoln adventurer will be the first model of the joint venture, which was originally scheduled to go on sale in China at the end of 2019, but has been delayed.
The declaration information of the new car has been announced on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In response to market changes, Changan Motor and Ford signed a deepening cooperation agreement earlier, and the two sides plan to speed up the localization of new models of the Ford brand and Lincoln brand.
Sales of Lincoln in China in 2018 were 55315, up 2.2% from the same period last year; from January to June 2019, cumulative sales were 25514, down 5% from the same period last year. Ford wants to cope with the competition in the luxury car market through the localization of the Lincoln brand, while pursuing Ford's revival plan in China.
