AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)03/21 Report--

In order to realize the previously proposed Vision 2020 as soon as possible, Volvo plans to install cameras and sensors on its cars from the beginning of 2020 to monitor drivers for signs of drunkenness or distraction and to take intervention measures to prevent accidents.

The specific operation process is that when the installed camera detects that the driver is drunk, tired or distracted by checking the phone, the sensor system will limit the speed of the car and remind the owner in the call assistance service, or simply slow down and stop. At present, several situations of appeal are several important factors leading to major traffic safety accidents caused by driving.

Volvo said cameras and sensors would be installed on all models on the SPA2 platform, such as the XC90 SUV. Volvo's driverless cars will also be produced on the SPA2 platform over the next 10 years. In the future, the company will also introduce a Care Key system, in which Volvo owners can set speed limits for their cars and set speed limits before lending them to younger or inexperienced drivers to avoid many safety risks and unnecessary troubles. It is understood that the system will be installed on all Volvo cars from 2021.

Volvo also announced that it would limit the top speed of all its newly manufactured cars to 180km / h from 2020 in order to realize the "2020 Vision" proposed earlier. The launch of a series of car safety systems and the announcement of safety measures show that Volvo is moving closer to the desired goal of Vision 2020.
