C-NCAP China Technology Research Center announced the results of the fourth batch of crash tests in 2019. There are 9 models participating in the crash test this time, namely FAW-Volkswagen Exploration Yue, GAC Toyota Leiling, Dongfeng Nissan Xuanyi, Subaru Hybrid Edition, SAIC MAXUS D60, Chang 'an CS75 PLUS, GAC New Energy Aion S (Ai' an S), Beijing Automobile BEIJING-U7 and Mustang Bojun.

This batch of models includes 7 traditional fuel models, 1 pure electric vehicle and 1 hybrid electric vehicle. According to the final results, 6 of the 9 tested models received five-star evaluation, 2 received four-star evaluation and 1 received two-star evaluation.

From the specific vehicle model, FAW-Volkswagen got the highest score, with a comprehensive score of 94.6%. Meanwhile, it got the highest comprehensive score of traditional fuel vehicle model. During the collision process, the airbag popped up in time to provide sufficient protection for dummy. After collision, the A-pillar did not bend obviously, and the cockpit basically remained intact. The final rating was five and a half stars.

Toyota Leiling comprehensive score rate is 91.8%, second only to FAW-Volkswagen Tanyue. During the collision process, the airbag of Toyota Rayling pops up in time to make the dummy fully protected, and the A pillar has no obvious deformation after collision. Dongfeng Nissan Xuanyi comprehensive score rate of 91%, in the collision process of the front airbag timely pop-up, for the driver and front passengers to provide adequate head protection.

In addition, the comprehensive score rate of Subaru Forester Hybrid Edition is 90.4%, the comprehensive score rate of SAIC MAXUS Chase D60 is 88.9%, and the comprehensive score rate of Chang 'an CS75 PLUS is 85.4%.

It is worth noting that the performance of independent brands is unsatisfactory. Although Chang 'an CS75 and SAIC MAXUS Chase D60 have won five-star evaluation, their score rates are below 90%, which still has a certain gap compared with joint venture brands.

GAC New Energy Aion S is the only pure electric vehicle in this batch, with a comprehensive score rate of 78.1%. After side collision, the door on the driver's side is obviously deformed. Because the vehicle is not equipped with side airbag, it fails to provide good protection for dummy, and the final rating is 4 stars. The comprehensive score rate of Beiqi Zhidao U7 is 72.2%, which also reaches 4 stars. However, the scores of pedestrian protection and active safety items were 61.40% and 26.67% respectively, which were serious missing items.

As for Mustang Bojun, the results were very poor, with a comprehensive score of 51.7%, which was the only one of the nine test models to receive 2 stars. In the frontal 100% collision and frontal 40% collision, the airbag of Mustang Bojun can be ejected in time, and the A-pillar has no obvious bending deformation, and the overall performance is good. However, in a side impact, the doors, together with the roof above, were severely deformed, and the test models were not equipped with side air curtains, resulting in less protection for the dummies, resulting in lower scores. The active and passive safety configuration of this car is relatively simple, and there are obviously many problems in passive safety development and pedestrian protection design.
