AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)12/27 Report--

Following General Motors' decision to urgently recall 900000 defective models, Cadillac and the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration issued relevant recall notices today, with details of the vehicles and the causes of engine defects officially announced.

On December 27, SAIC General Motors Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the Administration of defective Automobile products recall and the measures for the implementation of defective Automobile products recall regulations. A total of 16292 vehicles have been recalled since December 31, 2019.

Recall models:

SAIC General Motors Co., Ltd. recalled some of the 2019 Cadillac CT6 cars produced between June 25, 2018 and September 9, 2019, a total of 16292 vehicles.

Reasons for recall:

For the vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to the imperfect software diagnosis logic of the electronic brake control module, when the vehicle fails to work properly in the anti-lock braking system and the electronic stability control system, the corresponding warning lights in the combined instrument may not be lit normally, which can not play a warning role in time, and there is a safety hidden danger.

Solution:

SAIC General Motors Co., Ltd. will upgrade the electronic brake control module software for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate safety risks.

Cadillac CT6, the only Cadillac car model this year, has helped Cadillac keep improving its sales figures in China. In November, Cadillac sold 16800 vehicles in China, down 20% from a year earlier; cumulative sales in the first November were 194800, down 5.76% from a year earlier. CT6 sold 2318 vehicles in November, up 65.3% from a year earlier, growing for several consecutive months.
