According to the evaluation results released by C-IASI, Magotan only got M rating for 25% offset collision in front and A rating for side collision, far less than G rating of competitors of other brands.

In a frontal 25% offset collision, the Magotan collapses severely after colliding with the non-deformable rigid barrier at a speed of about 64km/h, resulting in further intrusion into the interior space and posing a threat to the driver.

In general, the A-pillar and cockpit should not deform after a frontal 25% offset collision, while the Volkswagen Magotan A-pillar bends and there are two holes torn by impact below the firewall and near the B-pillar. It means that the front part cannot absorb all the impact energy of the collision well, and finally the firewall part intrudes into the passenger compartment, especially the intrusion into the upper space of the passenger compartment due to the bending of the A residence.

C-IASI commented that "the front airbag protection of the front head is extremely small and the steering wheel moves laterally excessively." This sentence means that Magotan has the same fatal defects as Passat, the steering wheel suddenly moves to one side during collision, the airbag cannot play a protective role, and the driver's head is vulnerable to impact.

Compared with the same class models, Teana, Camry, Asian Dragon, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3 Series all received G rating in the frontal 25% offset collision, Magotan only M rating, Passat even P rating, which can be said to be a very sharp contrast.
