In the domestic car market, Dongfeng Yueda Kia's K5 model has been sought after by many consumers at the beginning of its launch. Thanks to its cool appearance design, spacious space performance and surpassing configuration, it has become one of the representative cars of Korean cars. However, Kia K5 gradually lost its competitiveness due to the renewal of its sedan camp by major automobile brands, and the preferential margin was not large, so Kia K5's performance in the market was very bleak.

In November 2019, Kia K5 sold only 63 units, while the cumulative sales volume from January to November was only 2286 units, in sharp contrast to the monthly sales of more than 10,000 units in the past.

Recently, Dongfeng Yueda Kia official revealed that the domestic brand-new generation K5 will be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in April this year and officially listed in the second quarter. It is worth noting that the brand-new generation Kia K5 was officially launched in South Korea in December 2019, but the overseas version of K5 is slightly different from the domestic version of K5.

The new generation of Kia K5 exterior adopts a more exaggerated design style, officially called "Tiger Nose Evolution" design. The front air intake grille of the new car adopts concave design, and both ends are connected with irregular LED light strips to increase the sports effect. The rear of the body features a slip-back design, a slightly raised trunk lid to form a spoiler and through-type tail lights. In terms of size, the length and width of Kia K5 are 4905/1860mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2850mm, which is an increase in size compared with the previous generation model.

The new Kia K5 continues the design language of the Kia family in terms of interior decoration. The large size central control screen is equipped with LCD instrument panel, and horizontal air conditioning outlets and automatic air conditioning control panel are arranged under the central control screen. In addition, the new car also provides flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel, knob shift, electronic hand brake, automatic parking, automatic start and stop, steering wheel heating, seat ventilation and heating and other functions.

In terms of power, according to official sources, the new generation Kia K5 will offer 1.5T+7DCT, 2.0T and 2.0L hybrid three power options, but no specific parameters have been announced.

In the joint venture brands, in addition to Japanese, German and other mainstream brands can stand alone, Korean and French models have gradually lost their competitive advantage, and in the era of independent brands, the sales volume of these brands has become more bleak. Of course, from the current exposure of the brand-new K5, it still has a certain advantage in the competition at the same level, but the most important thing is the price of the new car, if it has high cost performance, compared with Kia K5 back to the monthly sales of tens of thousands of that year is not a difficult thing.
