The first prototype car of China's independent brand Grove was launched globally on March 20. the new car is powered by a hydrogen fuel stack, has a range of more than 1000 kilometers, uses a carbon fiber body and is positioned as a large-scale luxury SUV, and is expected to be put into mass production in 2020.

Grove hydrogen Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of Wuhan Geological Resources and Environmental Industry Technology Research Institute (IGE). The data show that the company was founded on March 15, 2018. the brand name is taken from Academician William Robert Grove William Grove, the inventor of fuel cell (invented fuel cell in 1839). According to officials, the Grove hydrogen passenger car project was launched in September 2016, and the company's Barcelona team is led by Mr. Chris, chief design officer and co-founder of Grove, who served as head of the European design department of Fiat and Nissan and worked for Volkswagen and Audi.

According to officials, Grove's first model will undergo major vehicle testing in 2019. Grove will also display a number of models at this year's Shanghai auto show, and in the next few years, the company will also launch a number of models based on high-end technology platforms.

Grove's first product, which uses a carbon fiber body design, is somewhat similar to Maserati in appearance, especially in the front part, with a waterfall forward grille, headlights connected to the front net and sharp lines. The side door is designed with an up-lift opposite door, which looks like a low Maserati Levanet on the whole.

The new car, which carries a hydrogen fuel stack and is said to have a range of more than 1000 kilometers, will unveil a variety of models at the Shanghai auto show in April and accept customer bookings for the first car, which is scheduled to be put into mass production in 2020.

Before this, Grove hydrogen car rarely heard of, claiming to have "the world's leading hydrogen fuel cell", "newly designed hydrogen power system integration solution", but this time Grove only unveiled its first prototype car. Details of the specific technology have not been released.
