AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)03/22 Report--

Six months ago, Xiaopeng auto employees were arrested by FBI and charged with stealing Apple's trade secrets. Zhang Xiaolang, a former Apple employee, was arrested and charged by the Federal Bureau of investigation on charges of stealing trade secrets. Zhang Xiaolang joined Xiaopeng in early May after offering to leave Apple in April. Xiaopeng responded that it did not know about the employee's behavior.

Unexpectedly, half a year later, Xiaopeng auto employees were sued again by American technology companies, and this time it was Tesla.

Tesla has sued a former Chinese employee, accusing him of stealing the source code of Autopilot autopilot technology and joining Chinese electric car startup Xiaopeng Automobile, according to foreign media.

In an indictment by Tesla, Guangzhi Cao, a former Autopilot computer vision scientist, said that when he was preparing to join China Xiaopeng, he copied more than 300,000 files related to Autopilot source code and uploaded a complete copy of Autopilot related source code to his iCloud account.

On January 3 this year, Cao Guangzhi suddenly applied for his resignation to Tesla and then moved to China Xiaopeng Automobile as the head of self-driving awareness of the company.

Tesla argued in the indictment that Autopilot is a research and development achievement that Tesla has invested more than hundreds of millions of dollars over the past five years, and Cao Guangzhi and Xiaopeng Motor do not have any right to use Tesla's Autopilot-related technology.

Xiaopeng quickly responded, saying that the company had begun an internal investigation into the matter.

This (22) morning, Xiaopeng Motor made an official response to the employee's charge of stealing Tesla's secrets:

Xiaopeng Motor responded to the full text:

Recently, Tesla filed a civil lawsuit against Mr. Cao Guangzhi, a former employee, visual scientist and now employee of Xiaopeng Automobile. Some media reports linked the matter to Xiaopeng Motor. For this reason, Xiaopeng Motor issued the following statement:

1. Before and after Mr. Cao Guangzhi joined the post, Xiaopeng Motor did not find any possible violations claimed by Tesla. At present, Xiaopeng Motor has launched a further investigation into the matter.

2. We pay close attention to this matter and thank you for your attention and understanding. A small number of media reports and the descriptions and guesses made by Tesla in this case related to Xiaopeng Motor are not in line with the facts.

3. Xiaopeng Automobile is one of the leading new car manufacturers in China, which carries out independent research and development in many fields such as self-driving. We firmly believe that groundless accusation will not suppress innovation. Xiaopeng will continue to introduce high-tech talents in various fields and actively face the global wave of competition for smart cars.
