According to the latest data released by the Federation of passengers, retail sales of narrow passenger cars in December reached 2.141 million, down 3.4% from the same period last year and up 11.1% from the previous year. Among them, car sales were 1.018 million, down 6.9% from the same period last year, up 9.7% from the previous year. 132000 MPVs, down 15.2% from the same period last year, and up 13.5% from the previous year. From the perspective of the car market, Japanese brands did not perform as well as German brands in the last month of the year, but the annual growth performance of Japanese brands was higher than that of German brands. Among the top 15 car models, Japanese accounted for 30%, German accounted for 50%, domestic ownership and American accounted for 10% respectively.

In December, Nissan overtook Xin Lang Yi to become the top seller in a single month, winning more than 60,000 sales by virtue of substantial discounts and "two-car sales" strategy, making it the highest sales volume of the year. Except for Xuanyi, the rest of the Corolla, Accord and Civic declined. In particular, the Honda Civic, which sold more than 20, 000 units for several months, fell to 17000, down 19% from the previous month and 35% from the same period last year. Toyota Leiling remained unchanged. Camry didn't make the top 15.

While German brand Volkswagen occupied the top of the list in December, with the exception of Xinlangyi, all achieved month-on-month growth. Volkswagen Maiteng re-entered the top 15, the most prominent being the Volkswagen Passat, which was "knocked" out of the bottom of the safety rating by China Insurance Research Institute in October last year. however, sales increased for two consecutive months, with a total of 27000 units sold in December, up 7.8% from the previous month and 81.2% higher than the same period last year.

In addition, only Buick Yinglang appeared in the top 15, with a total of 23000 sold, down 35.6% from the same period last year, while domestic Dihao and BAIC EU, Dihao's performance was stable, while BAIC New Energy reappeared on the list after many months, thanks to a sprint at the end of the year.

December SUV market performance, independent models occupy many seats, according to the proportion, independent brands accounted for more than 50%, Japanese and German accounted for 30% and 20% respectively.

In December, the SUV market is better than the car market, and all brand car companies have achieved an increase in sales. It can be seen that consumers choose more SUV models than cars at the end of the year. It is not difficult to guess that SUV models are more suitable for car models for the "return tide" in January. Among them, Volkswagen Touguan rose the most, returning to the top three from the top 10 last month, with cumulative sales of 26000 vehicles, up 16.5% from the same period last year. Honda Color fell out of the 15th place and was replaced by XR-V, while the rest of the models rose by about 2000 vehicles.

The performance of the MPV model market in December is relatively stable, as the domestic MPV market has been basically locked, and the ranking does not change much every month. Wuling Hongguang is still the "magic car" of the domestic MPV market, with cumulative sales of more than 40,000 vehicles, down 15% from the same period last year, greatly surpassing all the major models in the MPV market. The joint venture MPV is still dominated by Buick GLBs, with cumulative sales of 15000 vehicles, up nearly 50% from a year earlier, while Japanese Odyssey and Ericsson are mediocre; the worst decline is BYD Song MAX, down 73% from a year earlier.
