AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)03/22 Report--

Rolls-Royce sales in China will hit a record high in 2019 and will not be affected by the downturn in the Chinese car market, Rolls-Royce officials said recently.

The reason is that because Rolls-Royce is a top luxury brand, most of its customers are either rich or expensive, belong to the upper-class consumer group, and are not as vulnerable to the economic slowdown as mainstream consumers. To some extent, the luxury car market has nothing to do with what happens in the ordinary car market.

China has always been a favored market for luxury car brands. Luxury car sales in China rose 8% year-on-year to 2.82 million in 2018, without a downward trend due to trade tensions between China and the United States. this has something to do with more and more consumers who prefer high-end models when buying cars. Rolls-Royce overshadowed other European luxury brands in the Chinese market last year, with sales reaching 43% year-on-year. Porsche and Ferrari, two big luxury brands, also grew last year.
