AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)01/15 Report--
BYD, as the "leader" in the field of electric vehicles in China, is also the No.1 car company in the sales volume of new energy vehicles in the world. Although it has been overtaken by Tesla recently, its product power in the field of new energy vehicles is still recognized by many consumers. However, a few days ago, BYD was complained by a large number of owners due to OTA upgrade problems, mainly because the charging time slowed down after the system upgrade, and the owner said he cheated users.
According to the reflection of the owners with problems, the vehicles involved are BYD Qin Pro EV models. The situation is that the charging power of the vehicles has been significantly reduced since the system was upgraded to the latest version 1.1, greatly increasing the charging time cost.
According to the owner of the complaint table, the fast charge rate can reach 30kwh before the system is upgraded. After the upgrade, the battery temperature control system is prompted to intervene. The fast charge rate is obviously limited, the fast charge rate rises slowly, and the peak charge rate is not as good as before the upgrade, resulting in significantly longer fast charge time, which is seriously inconsistent with the 30% to 80% fast charge advertised before.
Another owner reflected that 30-80% fast charge before system upgrade can be completed in about half an hour, but 30-80% fast charge after upgrade can only charge 20% of electricity in half an hour.
In addition, most car owners also said that BYD system will "secretly" upgrade itself. A car owner introduced that before the system upgrade, the vehicle will prompt whether to upgrade the option, but after clicking negative, the vehicle will start automatic upgrade, driving in the morning found forced upgrade, and now fast charge takes about 2 and a half hours, the manufacturer does not inform the user, forced to update the user's property, forced to reduce the charging power.
Even some owners reflect that energy recovery disappears when walking power generation is charged to protect the battery state, even if the battery is charged for protection, it is only 5 degrees of electricity, so the braking distance becomes very long, affecting safety. Factory protection batteries do not protect passengers, drivers lose energy recovery resistance, braking distance is too long.
Therefore, the owner thinks BYD is suspected of deceiving users, false propaganda, asking BYD to release the power limit of fast charging, giving explanation, no forced upgrade in the future, unconditional respect for customer choice, and no lowering of vehicle warranty standard on the grounds of non-upgrade.
Up to now, there have been 51 joint complaints from car owners on a complaint platform, and most of the complaints from car owners are still "under processing".
BYD Qin Pro EV currently has three configuration models on sale. After official subsidy, the price is 1369 - 206,900 yuan. It is equipped with ternary lithium battery with energy density of 160Wh/kg. The maximum power of its drive motor is 100kW, and the range under NEDC condition reaches 421km. As subsidies recede, sales of the model are further decreasing, with monthly sales of less than 1000 vehicles.
In fact, for the performance of new energy vehicles at present, there are many factors affecting charging, including the current cold climate in the northern winter, slow and fast. Secondly, different charging piles will also affect the charging time with the size of power, but BYD, as the leader of new energy vehicles in China, should give feedback to owners as soon as possible to prevent adverse word of mouth spread.
