Tesla, as the leader of the electric vehicle industry, to tell the truth, many car companies are shocked by Tesla's performance. Many car manufacturing enterprises, whether on the market of new cars or enterprise planning, regard surpassing Tesla as the standard of success.

Baiteng, a new force in car building, is no exception. Baiteng said that when designing the first mass production model, M-Byte, they attached great importance to the technical field and were ready to overtake Tesla in this area, and stressed that the company wanted to use its first mass production car as a "smart device on wheels."

The M-Byte, the first production model of Baiteng, adopts a closed forward air grille design with a sleek front. In terms of power, M-Byte offers two kinds of power systems, namely single-motor rear-drive version and front-rear dual-motor rear-drive version, with a maximum power of 272hp and 408hp, and integrated mileage of 430km and 550km.

As the first model of Baiteng, the biggest highlight is its 48-inch comprehensive screen. Looking at the products of major automakers at home and abroad, it seems that only Baiteng is so "bold". After all, Tesla has never designed it like this before. Dai Lei, founder of Baiteng Automobile, said that Baiteng is aimed at Tesla, and Tesla is a worthy opponent, but compared with Tesla, Baiteng has advantages in science and technology, quality and design.

Although Tesla, which was founded in 2003, has increased steadily in terms of sales volume, it has not been able to continue to grow in terms of profits. According to Tesla's financial report, net profit attributable to ordinary shareholders in the third quarter of fiscal 2019 was $143 million, down 54.1% from a year earlier, while operating income was $6.303 billion, down 7.64% from a year earlier.

Baiteng Motor regards Tesla as a strong competitor in the industry, but seems to be much more optimistic than Tesla in terms of profits. Biden said it would not take 10 or 15 years to break even, with a break-even point of 100000 vehicles and is expected to break even in 2022.

Although leaders are optimistic about the future development of Baiteng Motor, it is actually much more difficult to operate.

Baiteng Automobile is not the first to regard Tesla as a strong competitor. Faraday Future, Xilai and Lucid Motors are also among them. in fact, very few car companies have really become Tesla's competitors. on the contrary, it is Tesla's localization that has caused great pressure on these car enterprises.

It is understood that Baiteng Motor has conducted four rounds of financing since its establishment in 2017, with a total financing amount of more than 1.2 billion US dollars, including FAW Group, Foxconn, Ningde Times and so on. Li Bin once said, "to build a car from scratch, 20 billion is an admission ticket." by the third quarter of 2019, NIO had a cumulative loss of more than 25 billion yuan. By contrast, Baiteng's $1.2 billion is a drop in the bucket.

At present, the major automobile companies are committed to the development of the new energy vehicle industry. Due to the decline of new energy vehicle subsidies and fierce competition in the automobile market, new energy vehicles have declined for many months compared with the same period last year. Although new energy vehicles have become the weather vane for future development, but the real demand has not been achieved in the market, the labor pains of the new energy vehicle industry have just begun, and there is not much time left for the new forces of car building.

Dai Lei said that at present, there are dozens of new car-building forces in China, and consumers do not need so many brands. Now that the knockout stage has begun, enterprises will be eliminated or acquired in two years at the earliest, but a few will stay.

Yao Yang, dean of the National Institute of Development at Peking University, said, "as long as traditional car companies start building electric cars, the world's non-traditional electric car company, Tesla, will probably survive, and the rest will probably die."
