According to official sources, in June 2017, Sumi Weishang released the title "the Great Wall VV7 is poisonous, and the formaldehyde content in the floor directly explodes!" on the official Wechat account, Weibo, Sohu video account, car account, Ika Automobile Forum, Leeco, Pacific Network and other platforms operated by the company. , "the wire harness messy formaldehyde exceeds the standard, the Great Wall VV7' face 'the outstanding representative of the project" and other articles and videos.

Great Wall Motors said that the article and video content factors involved Midea Weishang conducted vehicle dismantling and inspection methods that did not comply with national and industry standards, and vilified the excessive formaldehyde content in Great Wall's VV7 cars, and deliberately expanded the scope of publicity to mislead the public and seriously damage the goodwill of Great Wall Motor.

After many unsuccessful communications, it was decided to report it to the Beijing Haidian District people's Court in July 2019, asking Su Mei Weishang Company to delete the content involved and issue a statement, and compensate Great Wall Motor for economic losses of 4944280 yuan and reasonable expenses for safeguarding rights of 55720 yuan.

Finally, after the investigation and trial by the court, it was concluded that the inspection standards of Su Mei Weishang Company did not meet the national standards during the dismantling and testing of vehicles, which belonged to the conclusion drawn by lax testing methods, which damaged the commercial goodwill of Great Wall Motor and constituted commercial slander.

To this end, the court ruled that Su Mei Weishang Company should delete the contents and videos of articles and videos involved in the case in various major channels, and at the same time issue a statement on the same platform for 10 consecutive days, and compensate the plaintiff Great Wall Motor for economic losses of 1 million yuan and reasonable fees for safeguarding its rights of 55520 yuan.

With the rapid development of the Internet era, the speed and scope of information dissemination is far beyond imagination. In some events, the influence of self-media can be comparable to or even exceed that of traditional media. Therefore, when the media publishes the content, it needs to be true, strict and rigorous.

VV7, from WEY, a high-end brand owned by Great Wall, was founded in 2016. Its products have launched VV5, VV6, VV7 and P84 models, while the VV7 is the first model under the WEY brand. The brand sold 100043 vehicles a year for the whole of 2019, down 28.28% from a year earlier.

Among them, the main model VV6 sold a total of 57724 vehicles in the whole year, accounting for more than half of the sales of the WEY brand. Due to the gradual marginalization of the market performance of VV5 and VV7, sales for the whole year declined sharply, accounting for nearly 10% of the monthly sales of Great Wall Motor.
