AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)01/28 Report--
With the continuous deepening of the new energy vehicle market, the major automobile manufacturers have launched their pure electric models to supply market demand. Recently, Volvo officially opened its reservation for the XC40 Reacharge P8 AWD, and the new car will be officially put into production in the first half of this year.
The XC40 Recharge P8 AWD is Volvo's first all-electric model, which is based on the CMA module architecture. It is understood that the CMA module architecture is an intermediate vehicle basic module architecture jointly developed by Volvo and Geely. Under the CMA module, the wheelbase, length, width, height and other parts of the vehicle can be changed, suitable for a variety of body forms and sizes.
Volvo XC40's pure electric version is based on the fuel version of XC40 and is consistent with XC40 in appearance, only in details. Among them, the front face of the pure electric version of XC40 adopts the fully enclosed grille design commonly used by new energy vehicles, the family design language is still used, and the front face of the new car is still trapezoidal design.
The XC40 electric version based on the CMA module architecture is also very novel in interior, drawing on the design layout of XC60. The high-end model is equipped with a 12.3inch full LCD dashboard and a 9-inch central touch LCD screen, and retains a large number of physical buttons. In addition, the pure electric version of XC40 is equipped with Advanced driving Assistance system (ADAS), which makes it capable of self-assisted driving. The system consists of multiple radars, cameras and ultrasonic sensors.
In terms of power, Volvo XC40 pure electric version will be equipped with front and rear dual motors, comprehensive maximum power up to 296kW, peak torque 653Nm, and full-time all-wheel drive system. In addition, the new car will also be equipped with a 78kWh battery pack with a maximum range of up to 400km.
Volvo sold 705452 new cars in 2019, up 9.8% from a year earlier, according to sales data. Of these, a total of 154961 vehicles were sold in China, an increase of 18.7% over the same period last year.
In the Chinese market, Volvo is mainly based on the S90 and XC60 models, of which Volvo S90 accumulated sales of 43130 vehicles, up 24% year-on-year; XC60 accumulated sales of 62594 vehicles, up 28% year-on-year.
The fate of the pure electric version of XC40, based on the fuel version of XC40, is still unknown. It is understood that the XC40 is Volvo's highest cumulative global sales, but it is not very satisfactory in the Chinese market, with a cumulative sales of 13216 vehicles in 2019.
Volvo is the first traditional carmaker in the world to say it will stop producing cars with internal combustion engines altogether. As early as 2017, Volvo announced plans to "end pure internal combustion engine cars". Over the next five years, Volvo plans to launch five new all-electric models. Pure electric vehicles are expected to account for 50% of Volvo's total sales by 2025.
