AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)01/29 Report--

Not only 2019 has passed, the new year has also passed a month, car companies have announced New year's resolutions one after another. With the downward trend of the domestic automobile market for two consecutive years, there are still many unpredictable market performance this year, including the impact of the epidemic. In this regard, car companies have become more conservative about the new year's sales, and some even only want to outperform the market.

Judging from the New year's resolutions of various car companies, many car companies have lowered their sales targets, and even Honda, which achieved substantial growth last year, has only increased its sales target by 10,000 vehicles compared with the previous year, and it is clear that the car market in 2020 is still not very optimistic.

As the German and domestic Volkswagen brand with the largest sales volume, only FAW-Volkswagen announced its New year's resolutions, coupled with FAW Audi's annual sales target of 2.125 million vehicles, a small increase over the previous year. FAW-Volkswagen was the first and only car company to break through 2 million vehicles in 2019, and its brand Jetta also added a major sales growth. After many years, it has once again surpassed SAIC and Volkswagen to return to the top of the list. Although Audi failed to surpass Mercedes-Benz and BMW due to the impact of product replacement last year, it is believed that the growth trend in the second half of the year is obvious. It is believed that Mercedes-Benz and BMW will be stimulated again this year.

Mercedes-Benz and BMW, also luxury brands, have not announced sales targets, and may be affected by the market, they are still not ready, while Mercedes-Benz's sales target of 560000 last year was only Beijing Mercedes-Benz, and last year's cumulative sales increased by 4% compared with the same period last year. BMW's cumulative sales are the highest in luxury brands of the year.

Among Japanese brands, Toyota has been very aggressive this year, targeting 1.76 million vehicles at the end of the year, including 770000 FAW Toyota vehicles. It is not difficult to guess that Toyota's confidence in sales this year is also due to the launch of a number of new models this year, including the RAV4 sister model Wellanda, and the gradual climbing of RAV4 and Carola to achieve sales growth.

On the other hand, because Toyota also has a new "sharp weapon" for sales growth of luxury brands, Lexus still achieved sales growth even though there were frequent price increases and fines last year, and set a target of 300000 vehicles this year. I hope to surpass Cadillac's sales.

Honda still has a number of new models on the market this year, including the continued best-selling Civic will launch the hatchback, the new Feido and mixed CR-V models, but its sales target is still no decline in sales or slight growth, it is clear that Honda is not optimistic about the car market this year, relatively conservative.

Nissan, which also has a large sales volume, did not announce a New year's resolution. Nissan became the only one of the three major Japanese brands to decline due to multiple influences last year, but there are also new models that may be launched this year to help it achieve sales growth. including the novelty Jun. While its Infiniti has raised its target by only 200 vehicles, it is clear that Infiniti does not have much competition in the luxury market.

The other two Japanese brands, Mazda and Subaru, are positioned as niche brands. Subaru has understandably high price positioning because of imported models, but the domestic Mazda is still positioned higher than the same class of models, resulting in a year-on-year decline in sales and a small proportion of sales.

The French, Japanese and American brands of joint venture brands are shrinking due to the gradual rise of their own brands. Kia and Hyundai have both lowered their annual targets, which is obviously too high to be achieved. In particular, Kia's sales have dropped by nearly 50% this year, and it is expected to achieve transformation this year through new energy, but the changes since the decline of subsidies in the new energy industry in July last year. The market for new energy vehicles is changing more violently than expected.

American brands are greatly affected by trade, resulting in a sharp decline in SAIC GM sales, but the sales target has not been announced, I believe it will not be easy this year. Ford, which is also an American brand, has fallen from nearly a million in 2016 to 184000 last year, down 51% from a year earlier. Obviously, even Ford doesn't know how to set a sales target. It has to be said that Ford's three-cylinder model has pushed itself into a "pit". Instead of achieving sales growth, problems have occurred frequently, and now it may be more difficult to re-push the four-cylinder model to achieve sales growth.

At present, French brands are in a collective downturn in China, with a sharp decline from Citroen, Peugeot to Renault. Today, the three brands account for less than 0.7% in China. Among them, Renault sold 179600 vehicles in China last year, down 17.2% from the same period last year, while Dongfeng Renault in the passenger car sector was only 18500, down 63% from the same period last year. The two major brands of Citroen and Peugeot under DPCA have only reached 113600, while the three major French brands have all declined significantly.

Most domestic independent brands have also suffered a decline in market sales, so much so that they have lowered their sales targets for this year, including BAIC, Dongfeng Group and so on. Changan Motor, known as the "profit cow", has only set its New year's resolution to beat the market because of Ford's year-on-year decline. And BYD suffered from the decline of new energy subsidies, sales were greatly affected, did not announce the New year sales target.

As the largest domestic independent brands, Geely and Great Wall, which did not announce sales targets, but achieved the target of 99% last year, outperformed the market. Geely, on the other hand, achieved its annual target last year and set a New year's resolution of 1.41 million vehicles, which shows that Geely has full confidence in the market and sales this year.

Overall, under the influence of last year's market performance, many car companies have lowered their sales targets, and even those with strong competitiveness have only set their targets for slight growth, which only shows that the market is still in a difficult situation this year. Of course, there are different car companies set the goal at a higher breakthrough point, but from the current situation, it may be difficult to achieve.
