Evergrande formally acquired a 51 per cent stake in NEVS, a Swedish electric car company, for $930 million at the beginning of this year and won a majority of board seats. NEVS acquired Sweden's Saab in 2012 and has since dabbled in electric car manufacturing. It now has production plants in Sweden and Tianjin, known as Guoneng New Energy vehicles in China, and Evergrande has also started building cars.

Thanks to the acquisition of existing companies, Evergrande new energy vehicles will soon be mass-produced. Evergrande has an R & D and manufacturing base in Trollhaitan, Sweden, which has reached the capacity of mass production, the Tianjin base plans to put into full production in June this year, and is planning to build bases in Shanghai and Guangzhou, Evergrande said at the meeting of Evergrande Health performance report on March 22nd. It is planned to build 500000-1 million vehicles within three years, and gradually achieve mass production.

It is understood that Evergrande Guoneng electric car will be put into production in June and will be sold globally.

At the global strategic partner summit of Evergrande Guoneng New Energy Automobile Group held earlier in Tianjin, Xu Jiayin also said that Evergrande has completed the layout of the whole industry chain in the field of new energy vehicles. We will strive to become the largest and strongest new energy vehicle group in the world within 3-5 years.

Guoneng Automobile is the 10th "dual-qualified" manufacturer approved by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Its Tianjin factory has been completed. The first 93 electric car based on Saab Phoenix platform currently announces a pre-sale price of 169800 yuan after subsidy.

After Evergrande takes over, it is expected to transform and put on the market on the basis of 93 electric cars.
