The new car maker, E-Cafe, is getting financing again. According to media sources, Electric Cafe received investment from Shanghai Mechatronics An on March 1. The only shareholder of Shanghai Mechatronics is Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd., the specific amount of investment has not been disclosed.

Before that, it was revealed that the electric coffee car had a serious financial problem.

So far, Electric Cafe has completed four rounds of financing. In the strategic financing stage, angel round, Pre-A round and round A respectively, it has obtained investment funds from Leeco, Xingzheng Securities Investment, professional investment institutions and automobile industry guidance fund, and Shanghai mechanical and electrical investment funds, with a total amount of more than 2.5 billion yuan.

Electric Cafe was founded in 2015, is a pure electric vehicle research and development, manufacturing, sales and service in one of the new energy vehicle enterprises. Zhang Hailiang, former global CEO of Letv Super Automobile, served as Chairman and CEO of Electric Cafe, Niu Shengfu as CTO, Chen Xiaobin as CFO, and Xiangdongping as CMO, and many core members came from SAIC-Volkswagen.

In November 2017, EV10, the first product of Electric Cafe to cooperate with Southeast Motor, was officially launched. It was subsequently confirmed that 5.5 billion yuan was invested in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province to build an electric coffee car Shaoxing base project.

In November, Electric Cafe launched its high-end brand ENOVATE, known as Skyline in Chinese, and announced that Skyline ME7 would be delivered in the second half of this year.

At present, there are more than 100 new car manufacturers in China. with the gradual opening of the market and the decline of new energy subsidies, there must be a round of reshuffle in the new energy vehicle industry, leaving behind the car companies with real competitive strength.
