A few days ago, SAIC GM Wuling will use practical actions to assist the epidemic prevention and control battle, through the reconstruction of production lines to change production masks, daily production capacity up to 1.7 million.

On February 6, Wuling Automobile released a message through official Weixin Official Accounts, saying that with the strong support of Guangxi District and Liuzhou City governments, SAIC GM Wuling joint suppliers changed production masks by rebuilding production lines to assist epidemic prevention and control with practical actions.

According to the project construction plan, the dust-free workshop will be reconstructed by Guangxi Construction Engineering Group and will be completed and put into use within this month. A total of 14 new mask production lines are set up, including 4 N95 mask production lines and 10 general medical protective mask production lines. The daily production capacity is expected to reach more than 1.7 million.

It is understood that at present, the relevant workshops have not been in production and are in the process of reconstruction. As the production workers have not returned to work, it is expected to start around February 10. At present, there are about 90 production employees in the workshop. In order to meet the production capacity demand, SAIC GM Wuling will also recruit personnel from the society. It is planned to expand the recruitment to about 85 people. By noon of February 6, 30 people have applied.

For capital and safety issues, the company will be provided with a loan of 50 million yuan by the National Development Bank; for project approval, relevant government permits have been obtained, and a "green channel" will be opened within a controllable range to accelerate the processing of production licenses, business licenses, hygiene licenses and other relevant certificates.

Before this, in order to cope with the shortage of domestic masks and protective equipment and other substances, SAIC GM Wuling also took advantage of international layout advantages to mobilize global resources and donated 20,000 medical masks from overseas to Liuzhou City Government to support the first-line epidemic prevention and control work. At the same time, in order to assist medical and health units in their work, the company has invested 35 Baojun E100 vehicles as epidemic prevention vehicles in the initial stage, mobilized dealers nationwide to support epidemic prevention and police vehicles for relevant local departments, and made full use of channel advantages to do practical things for the public.

SAIC-GM-Wuling is a large-scale Sino-foreign joint venture automobile company jointly established by Shanghai Automobile Group, General Motors (China) and Liuzhou Wuling Automobile. Its predecessor was Liuzhou Automobile Power Machinery Factory established in 1958.
